Background / History
Ding Hao was originally an Earthling. A restaurant explosion killed or displaced him while he was eating hot pot, after which he awakened in the body of Ding Hao, Great Zhou's newly crowned top scholar in the imperial examinations. His promising official career ended when Empress Xia Weiyang selected him for the palace, attempted to use him to create a false pregnancy, then framed him when her scheme failed. He was stripped of his scholar-official status and exiled to the Death Row Camp. 1
At Duan Yun Pass, Ding Hao was assigned to the Death Row Camp's suicidal first assault. After Ding Yishan executed captured Northern Barbarian prisoners, Ding Hao awakened the Heavenly Dao Corpse Scavenging System, which allowed him to collect the attributes, talents, martial arts, bloodlines, and items left behind by corpses. 1
Appearance
Ding Hao has a sturdy physique, long black hair, dark eyes, and a cold-looking face. Even after his rise in the army, he is repeatedly identified by the grey-white uniform of a death-row prisoner. 42
- Strong build enhanced by the Heavenly Tyrant Body and barbarian bloodline. 7 43
- Often wears a death-row uniform over Golden Silk Soft Armor. 22
- Carries the broad, heavy Mysterious Iron Saber in battle. 5 39
Personality
Ding Hao initially survives through restraint. As a newly condemned prisoner, he endures humiliation from Zhang Dahu rather than recklessly challenging an officer he cannot yet defeat. 1 4
His rapid growth makes him increasingly direct and defiant. He openly accepts responsibility for killing Zhang Dahu, challenges Zhang Dalong's authority, and refuses to surrender military merit that he has earned himself. 18 20 30
Despite his opportunistic approach to scavenging corpses, Ding Hao shows respect toward fallen Divine Phoenix Army soldiers, sometimes closing their eyes while clearing the battlefield. He is also discreet about Luo Shenhuang's poisoning and their private encounter, treating her survival as more important than personal gain. 16
Abilities & Skills
Heavenly Dao Corpse Scavenging System
Ding Hao's defining ability allows him to perceive and collect drops from corpses that others cannot see. The drops are random and may include attributes, talents, bloodlines, physiques, martial arts, treasures, and equipment. 1
- Fuses collected Vitality, Spirit, and Comprehension to improve his body, soul, and learning ability. 2 5
- Acquires new talents, bloodlines, martial arts, and equipment from fallen opponents. 1 4 40 43

- Its constant qi-and-blood growth gives Ding Hao a means of advancing when no corpses are available to scavenge. 7 17
Innate Strength and Mobility
Ding Hao possesses Innate Strength, also described as Natural Barbarian Strength, granting him extraordinary physical force from the beginning of his cultivation. 1 2
- At First Rank, his strength already rivaled that of a Third-Rank Martial Artist. 2

- Combined perfected Wind Treading Steps with the True Meaning of Wind to move through the air and intercept Man Potian before he reached the Royal Court City. 39
Primordial Barbarian God Bloodline
Ding Hao initially scavenged a wisp of Primordial Barbarian Bloodline from Man Poqi. The bloodline grants explosive primordial brute strength when activated. 4 5
- Its activation multiplied his strength enough to wound Zhang Dalong during their third saber clash. 20
- Can suppress or neutralize Man Potian's own Primordial Barbarian Bloodline, giving Ding Hao a decisive advantage against him. 29 38 39
- After collecting and fusing further bloodline fragments, it transformed into the Primordial Barbarian God Bloodline. 40 43
- The transformed bloodline provides greater power with reduced activation side effects. 43
- The Barbarian God Ancient Jade revealed the Barbarian God Blood Refining Scripture, which Ding Hao uses to refine the bloodline further. 43 44

Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Mysterious Iron Saber — Thousand-tempered Northern Barbarian saber scavenged from Man Poqi; Ding Hao's principal weapon. 4 5
- Golden Silk Soft Armor — Top-grade mortal armor woven from Tianshan Golden Silkworm Silk; resists blades, water, and fire. 21 22
