Background / History
Roselle arrived in the Solomon Empire as the son of a declining minor noble family. He adapted quickly to the era despite being unsettled by its advanced tools, food, and Dream Cult-driven technology. After discovering the silver plate left to him by Truman, he began documenting his experiences in Simplified Chinese and sought a Beyonder potion through the Church of the God of Artisans. 195 196
He became a Savant and advanced with exceptional speed, reaching Sequence 6 Mechanical Expert within several years. Ambitious to escape his provincial status, he traveled to the imperial capital, cultivated a “peerless genius” persona, and intended to reshape society through reproduced technology and industrial development. 197 201
Roselle’s artillery demonstration established his reputation among the imperial military, nobility, and royal family. Truman subsequently employed him to captain an expedition into the Fog Sea in exchange for an Alchemist characteristic. During the voyage, Roselle survived threats from the Primordial Moon, Suah, and the ruins’ starry-sky corruption, becoming more cautious after repeatedly confronting powers beyond his level. 199 206 210 211
After becoming a demigod, Roselle and Truman revealed their shared origin as transmigrators. With Truman’s support, Roselle pursued political reform in the Solomon Empire, later becoming an angel and leading a bloodless revolution that established the Nobility Council. 217 221 222
He eventually resigned as First Speaker to focus on the Illusion Realm. Alongside Truman, he helped create its worlds and wonderlands, received the authority of the Knowledge Emperor, and became one of its principal guardians. 223 336 341
When the God of War’s Divine Kingdom collapsed and weakened the world’s barrier, Roselle accepted Truman’s experiment, ascended as the God of Illusionary Dreams, and used his Divine Kingdom to mend the breach. His godhood carries a continuing risk: the Book of Dreams erodes his humanity, memories, and divinity, forcing him to rely on the Illusion Realm’s wonderlands as anchors. 508 509
Appearance
Roselle is depicted through a Historical Projection as a handsome man with blue eyes, chestnut hair, and neatly groomed mustaches, dressed in the noble attire of the Solomon Empire. 461
- Wore the silver plate around his neck during his early Beyonder career. 195
- Publicly appeared in a bishop’s divine robe when hosting his artillery demonstration. 205
- Displayed the Dream Castle’s dream-gold-coin badge during his political negotiations. 221
- His True God form is a Sea of Dream Clouds; prolonged direct observation can draw even True Gods into dreams. 508
Personality
Roselle is intensely ambitious, theatrical, and self-assured. Soon after arriving in the Solomon Empire, he declared himself the “protagonist of destiny,” planned to surpass the Duke of Dreams, and deliberately fashioned himself as a peerless scientific genius. 195 196 201
He is highly adaptable and socially capable, using charm, calculated flattery, and probing conversation to navigate figures such as Zaratul and the imperial nobility. However, his confidence can lead him into danger, notably when he underestimated a Sanguine cultist and the political struggles surrounding his inventions. 198 199 206
Despite his vanity and flirtatious behavior, Roselle is protective of his family and sincere about reforming the empire. His affection for Bernadette repeatedly tempers his political burdens, while his desire to become a god is driven in part by the wish to protect his family from the approaching apocalypse. 220 222
Abilities & Skills
Silver Plate
A composite mystical item connected to the Seer, Marauder, and Apprentice pathways. It serves as Roselle’s defining advantage during his lower- and middle-sequence years. 195 196
- Allows him to autonomously select three abilities at each Sequence from the three related pathways. 196
- Provides divination, concealment, and self-isolation functions. 197 198
- Protected him from Suah’s corruption and blocked a descending stream of starry-sky light. 210
- Pacified his restless divinity during his advancement to Sequence 4. 217
- Its former association with Sefirah Castle made Roselle a target for Outer Deities and other interested powers. 200 208
Savant and Alchemical Creation
As a Mechanical Expert and later Alchemist, Roselle combines engineering knowledge with Beyonder craftsmanship. 197 209 217
- Improved steam technology, sailing ships, and artillery using his memories and Savant recall. 201 204
- Designed artillery powerful enough that non-demigod Beyonders would need to flee a concentrated volley. 206
- Created and controlled an alchemical metal doll that transformed into a two-meter metal giant. 209
- Used the doll to wield a starlight longsword and defeat a tree giant. 209
- Alchemists can grant created objects rudimentary soul and life, and can create bodies that do not age. 216
Borrowed and Recorded Abilities
Roselle uses the silver plate’s pathway abilities tactically rather than relying on direct offense alone. 199
- Steal — briefly steals another person’s Beyonder ability; Roselle used it against a Primordial Moon cultist. 199
- Abyss Shackles — summons chains from the ground to bind enemies. 199
- Paper Figurine Substitute — replaces his body with a paper figurine to evade fatal attacks. 199
- Record — stores and reproduces recorded Beyonder abilities; Roselle used it to convert a bedsheet into a curtain of night and then Abyss Shackles. 199
- Purifying Slash — a Solar-pathway attack particularly effective against evil entities and the Moon pathway. 199
- Gate of Opening — enabled his escape from the cultist’s room after the battle. 199
Illusion Realm Authority
Roselle became deeply integrated with the Illusion Realm after receiving the Knowledge Emperor’s authority. 223
- Can draw on the Illusion Realm’s power and create innumerable wonderlands. 223 464
- Maintains a platform capable of observing events in Sefirah Castle through an “eye” he planted there. 247
- Can aggregate immense quantities of information through resonance with the Illusion Realm. 497
- Can manifest from recorded history rather than acting as an ordinary Historical Projection. 464
Divine Authority of Illusionary Dreams
As the God of Illusionary Dreams, Roselle’s authority is centered on dreams, collective consciousness, and illusion. 508 509
- Connected the dreams of all living beings across the Northern and Southern Continents as his Godhood Ritual. 508
- Possesses a Mythical Form that can trap observers in dreams. 508
- Formed the Divine Kingdom of Illusionary Dreams from Illusion Realm wonderlands. 509
- Used his Divine Kingdom to repair the damaged barrier against Outer Deity corruption. 509
- Must resist the Book of Dreams’ consciousness erosion through anchors in the Illusion Realm. 509
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Silver Plate — grants three selected abilities per Sequence from the Seer, Marauder, and Apprentice pathways. 196
- Alchemical Metal Doll / Golden Figure — an Alchemist-related Sealed Artifact that could become a metal giant animated by Roselle’s soul; later reverted into the Alchemist characteristic used for his advancement. 209 217
- Dream Gold Coin Badge — emblem of Dream Castle backing, used to demonstrate his political standing. 218 221
- Bill of Rights — a document notarized by the Supreme Dream; Roselle used it to establish the Nobility Council and constrain power through modified Mystery Reappearance. 221 222 336
Relationships
- Truman — fellow transmigrator, patron, mentor, and collaborator. Truman gave Roselle the silver plate, commissioned his Fog Sea voyage, supported his reforms, and partnered with him in building the Illusion Realm. 195 206 217 223
- Matilda Abel — fiancée and later wife. Their arranged marriage was accepted after Roselle found her to be exactly his type. 218
- Bernadette — daughter. Roselle is openly affectionate and protective toward her; she later becomes an angel and can summon or confront his Historical Projection. 220 222 462
