Eve of the Expedition

Over the next few days, Leo and Ais completely vanished.

No one knew where they had gone, and no one had spotted them anywhere. They had even forgotten the task Finn had assigned them, never returning to Twilight Manor to receive the outsiders who had come after hearing the news. The Loki Familia, realizing that the two had disappeared without a trace, could not help but worry.

Finn, who had remained at headquarters, had clearly guessed something. With a helpless, headache-inducing sigh, he rubbed his brow and gave an order.

"Forget it. Let them go. Leave the reception duties to those still at home. Call Anakitty back to take charge."

With that talented and beautiful [Madame Cat], who enjoyed tremendous popularity even among the gods and was praised by them all, stepping forward, the visitors would not be slighted.

Thus, the Loki Familia selectively forgot the two existed and continued pushing all their plans forward. Every now and then, though, someone would keep an eye on the latest news from the city and hear reports that the two had been seen fighting fiercely in the Dungeon.

But those reports only came in at first.

Nighttime was one thing. Adventurers would not enter the Dungeon at night, so Leo and Ais could fight to their hearts' content without worrying about causing trouble. But once daylight came and adventurers flooded into the Dungeon, the two of them clashing without restraint on a place like the 10th Floor would definitely affect others. It might even cause an uproar and spark unnecessary rumors.

So, early the next morning, Leo and Ais left the Dungeon's 10th Floor and headed deeper.

Once they left, no one ever saw them again.
