Along the seemingly endless passage of green flesh, circuits of light covering the floor, walls, and ceiling suddenly lit up.

As those circuits illuminated one after another, countless magic circles of varying sizes appeared across the floor, walls, and ceiling, unleashing surging torrents of magical energy.

"Watch out!"

"Look around you!"

"Magic circles?!"

The force commanders—Finn, Riveria Ljos Alf, Gareth, Bete Loga, Tiona, and Tione—were the first to notice the anomaly and shout warnings.

But the instant they called out, the magic circles of all different sizes activated.

The first attack was a blaze that tore through the air, sweeping toward the adventurers with a deafening roar like an explosion of surging flames.

The flames instantly blasted several adventurers at the front off their feet. Some flew through the air with smoke rising from their bodies; others collapsed as charred husks.

"Shields!"

Finn practically roared, prompting a group of powerfully built dwarf and beastman warriors to raise their shields around the entire force, blocking the relentless jets of flame.

"Healers! Get the wounded out of here!"

Riveria immediately chanted a defensive spell, draping everyone in her force in a mantle of green light. As she held back the flames pouring in from every direction, she ordered others to carry the wounded away for treatment.
