Utaha was a celebrated third-year student at Sobu High School, known for her refined appearance, literary talent, and status as the school’s “Autumn Flower.” She wrote drama-club scripts and was an up-and-coming light novel author whose fan support group was the largest among Sobu High’s four “high mountain flowers.” 5

Her first volume of Koi no Metronome sold well, but repeated editorial rejection of its second volume left her in creative paralysis. Though frustrated and insecure in private, she refused to reveal this vulnerability to Leo, who persistently urged her to continue the series. 5 48

Leo gave Utaha a parchment charm, which she eventually used while wishing for help with her manuscript.
