Background / History

Director Su oversaw Lin Li's enrollment at Nuoding Primary Soul Master Academy. He offered Lin Li an empty room beside his own in the teacher dormitory and invited him to seek help whenever needed. When Lin Li asked for assistance obtaining a Soul Ring, Director Su agreed and assessed the unusual nature of Mahoraga's attribute-enhancing Soul Skills. 2 3

He accompanied Lin Li on hunts for his first two Soul Rings. During the hunt for the first, he used Bind to restrain the Earth Cave Beast and was astonished by Mahoraga's physical enhancement. 4 During the second hunt in the Star Dou Forest, he advised Lin Li to keep his abnormal ring absorption limits secret, served as his guardian, and was injured while protecting him from the Three-Colored Deer. 10 11

After Lin Li obtained an 1,800-year Spirit Bone, Director Su initially urged him to absorb it for safety. Lin Li instead gifted it to him; Director Su eventually accepted and absorbed it, breaking through his bottleneck and renewing his hope of reaching the Soul Ancestor realm. 12

When Lin Li decided to leave Nuoding City for Heaven Dou City, Director Su did not oppose his ambition. He instead urged Lin Li to be careful and told him he could always return to live comfortably in Nuoding City. 13

Three years later, Director Su warmly welcomed Lin Li back to the academy. Lin Li presented him with a Nine-Grade Purple Ganoderma, which evolved his Martial Soul and raised his soul power to Level 40. Lin Li then personally helped him acquire a new Soul Ring. 81

Personality

Director Su is supportive, cautious, and protective toward gifted students. He readily assisted Lin Li despite the danger of hunting unusually high-age Soul Beasts, but consistently warned him against exposing his exceptional abilities too early. 3 10

He values fair competition and recognized the merit in Lin Li's rules for ending the conflict between work-study students and noble disciples. Rather than interrupting, he watched from the cafeteria and later openly approved of a solution that encouraged cultivation without favoring either side. 9
