Background / History

Ning Rongrong is Ning Fengzhi's third child and the younger sister of Ning Yang. Unlike Ning Yang, whose Innate Soul Power was only level 3, Rongrong awakened the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda with level 9 Innate Soul Power. This talent initially made her the presumed future Sect Master. 29

She was heavily doted on by Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo Chen Xin, and Bone Douluo Gu Rong. After Ning Yang evolved his Martial Soul into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, Ning Fengzhi appointed him as sect heir instead; Chen Xin and Gu Rong agreed that Rongrong did not need to bear the burden of leading the sect. 40

Proposed Marriage to Lin Li

After Ning Yang's Martial Soul evolves, Ning Fengzhi seeks to secure Lin Li's support for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. When Lin Li declines recruitment, Ning Fengzhi offers Rongrong as a potential marriage partner and later sends her to Heaven Dou City so the two can spend time together. 41

Rongrong becomes frustrated when Lin Li repeatedly avoids meeting her. She confronts him directly, accuses him of hiding from her, and reacts jealously to his stay at Dugu Bo's residence. 52 54 55

Lin Li's Enlightenment

While with Lin Li and Chen Xin, Rongrong witnesses Lin Li enter an Enlightenment of the Heart. She watches him step into the air without activating his Martial Soul or using visible soul power, prompting Chen Xin to explain that Lin Li is undergoing a rare state of realization. 56

Lin Li later acknowledges internally that he cannot return her feelings, largely because he dislikes her princess-like temperament. 58

Separation from Lin Li

Lin Li eventually approaches Rongrong to end their relationship. Though visibly hurt, she refuses to plead with him and instead vows to find someone stronger and more talented than him before running away. 80

Shrek Academy

Rongrong secretly enrolls at Shrek Academy after hearing that it only accepts “monsters.” She intends to find a genius and prove herself, but instead concludes that none of the academy's students can compare to Lin Li's talent. 82

When Lin Li visits Shrek Academy, Rongrong initially hides behind Zhu Zhuqing out of embarrassment. Later, she defends Lin Li from Dai Mubai's accusation that he became a Fallen Soul Master, insisting that Lin Li had remained in Heaven Dou City and could not have followed that path. 83 85

Departure from Shrek

After Lin Li defeats and kills several Shrek teachers, Rongrong arrives with two Spirit Masters from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.
