Background / History

The Fire God established inheritance grounds across multiple worlds, using Fire Figures to assess potential successors. He noticed Lin Li after the latter repeatedly defeated increasingly powerful Fire Figures, including a Soul Emperor-level construct while only a Soul Grand Master. Intrigued, the Fire God descended a sliver of Divine Sense into an assessment figure and personally intervened. 23

Initially reluctant to let a successor with no fire attribute inherit his position, he became determined to secure Lin Li after witnessing Mahoraga's adaptability and Lin Li's ability to resist fire attacks. He brought Lin Li to the Fire God Temple, branded him with the Fire God Nine Trials mark, and issued the first trial. 23

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, the Fire God destroyed the remnant souls of the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings, shielded Lin Li from their battle, and arranged the second trial so that Lin Li could send the Dragon Kings' Law and Origin to the Fire God Temple. The Fire Dragon King's origin aided the Fire God's own cultivation, while the Ice Dragon King's origin was intended for the Water God. 35

He personally guarded Lin Li during the simultaneous absorption of the Fire Dragon King's left-arm spirit bone and Ice Dragon King's torso bone. When Lin Li independently refined a wisp of Ice-Fire Divine Power, the Fire God recognized that his successor had begun touching Laws before becoming a Soul Ancestor. 36
