Background

The Auspicious Beast was born from the fortune of heaven and earth as the Star Dou Great Forest's vessel for the Power of Fate. Soul beasts throughout the forest regard her as their emperor and instinctively kneel before her. Her presence also accelerates the forest's soul-beast growth, contributing to its repeated Beast Tides. 1 14

Di Tian regards her as a daughter figure and initially shelters her heavily within the Star Dou Great Forest. Unlike Di Tian, whose life was defined by survival struggles, she grows up privileged and largely unchallenged; the resulting boredom makes her crave adventure beyond the forest. 1 3

Di Tian's simulations reveal a possible future in which she escapes the forest, encounters Huo Yuhao, exchanges fate with him, transforms into the human Wang Qiu'er, and eventually sacrifices her Spirit Ring, Spirit Bone, Golden Dragon bloodline, Power of Fate, and soul to save him. Determined to prevent this outcome, Di Tian repeatedly confines her and ultimately arranges a substitute for her in the Star Dou Great Forest. 4 7 29

Di Tian brings her to the Far North and entrusts her to Snow Empress and his disciple, Gu Yu. Before leaving, he extracts a portion of her Golden Dragon bloodline and the Star Dou Great Forest's fortune to empower the Golden Hawksbill Turtle impersonating her. Snow Empress then marks the Auspicious Beast with a snowflake, linking her destiny to the Far North and making her that region's Auspicious Beast as well. 29 30

Initially resentful of Gu Yu and determined to regain her freedom through greater strength, she becomes involved in his cultivation projects. She uses her Power of Fate to help his Ice Silkworm process heavenly treasures and grow more efficiently. 30 31

The Auspicious Beast is proud, impulsive, and accustomed to being obeyed. Because ordinary soul beasts do not dare challenge her, she initially treats most of them with indifference and considers herself above rules. When confronted by someone overwhelmingly stronger, however, she is quick to change tactics and apologize. 30 76

She is deeply curious about the human world and resents being treated as a fragile treasure. Her desire for freedom repeatedly conflicts with the protective restrictions imposed by Di Tian, Gu Yu, and the Far North's rulers. 1 116
