Hanfu and the others were resting. About an hour later, Itachi Uchiha caught up with them.

"Itachi, did everything go smoothly?" Shisui asked with concern as he stepped forward.

Earlier, Hanfu had given him a look, and he'd signaled Itachi in turn. Itachi had then quietly stayed behind in Kusagakure.

A single glance was all it took for them to understand each other.

"Everything went smoothly. I got a lead." As he spoke, Itachi Uchiha pulled out a green scroll.

As expected of Itachi-sama—he was so reliable!

Hanfu took the scroll with a smile, but when he opened it, he was stunned.

The huge scroll contained only one lead!

And it was the kind of lead anyone could have spotted at the scene: wherever a village had vanished, all that remained was a massive crater.

Below the lead was a note from Kusagakure, written in bold, elongated characters: "Possibly bombed with Explosive Tags."

Hanfu furrowed his brow. He'd thought Deva Path Pain was using Shinra Tensei to flatten the land, but Shinra Tensei wouldn't cause an explosion!

Seeing Hanfu's deeply troubled expression, the others hurried over to look. They were all stunned.

"So..."

Tenzo folded his arms and said oddly, "The Kusagakure leader wasn't unwilling to give us any leads. He simply didn't have any other useful ones?"

"He even said he didn't want to influence our investigation. Hmph, talk about putting on a brave face."

"Kusagakure really is nothing special."

"It's only a small ninja village, after all. We shouldn't have expected much from them."

"In the end, we still have to rely on ourselves!"

The supporting cast worked themselves into a frenzy as they talked.

Hanfu came back to himself. His gaze shifted from the scroll to
