"Temari, and the rest of you!"
In the courtyard, Baki sat beside the Stone Table with a stern expression. "This morning, at the entrance to Konoha, do you know why I stopped you from filling out that Registration Form?"
Temari and the others shook their heads, hungry.
"You!"
Baki angrily slapped the Stone Table and pointed at Temari. "Temari! You may have just graduated, but you've accompanied me on several trips outside the village over the past year. How did you fail to see through such a crude scheme by Konoha?"
"And the rest of you!"
Baki glared at the other Genin. "You've all been Genin for one or two years, and you have plenty of mission experience. You mean to tell me you didn't notice either?!"
The angrier Baki got, the louder his stomach rumbled.
Baki's old face reddened. He waved a hand and said, "Go eat first! When you get back, each of you will write a three-thousand-word self-criticism!"
"Th-three thousand?" Temari pleaded. "Teacher Baki, would two thousand do?"
Baki said, "Sure!"
"Huh?" Temari was stunned. If only she'd asked for eight hundred words.
The group left the courtyard and ran straight into a group of ninja wearing Mist Ninja Headbands. At their head was the voluptuous, alluring Mei Terumi. Ao stood beside her, while the Genin behind them were led by Hozuki Suigetsu.
"Aren't you ninja from Sunagakure?"
Mei Terumi furrowed her brow. "Why are you staying here too?"
"Konoha arranged it."
Baki shifted his gaze from Mei Terumi to Hozuki Suigetsu and the others, then smiled. "What, is Kirigakure planning to take part in the Chunin Joint Selection Exam hosted by Konoha too?"
"This isn't an exam hosted by Konoha. It's jointly hosted by several countries! At most, Konoha is just the organizer!" Ao stepped forward.
