"Isn't that Hanfu?" Uncle Teuchi spotted him and greeted him with a broad smile. "Come on in! There's a seat open right now."

Hanfu froze, caught between going in and leaving.

"Hey, Hanfu! Come over here!" Might Guy heard Uncle Teuchi and waved him over.

Kakashi glanced sideways at Hanfu and pointed to the seat beside him with his chopsticks.

With no way out, Hanfu steeled himself and walked over. "Hello, Kakashi-senpai. Hello, Might Guy-senpai. Hello, Asuma-senpai. Hello, Kurenai-senpai."

Asuma looked at Hanfu with a complicated expression.

Years ago, Hanfu had clashed with Asuma and his companions at the Fire Temple. The matter had eventually been settled, but Asuma had lost face in front of a junior despite being his senior. Even after all these years, the memory still rankled a little.
