Background / History

Naruto is the son of Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, and Kushina Uzumaki. During the Nine-Tails’ attack on Konoha, Minato and Kushina use the Eight Trigrams Seal to imprison the beast within their infant son, sacrificing their lives to protect him. Before dying, they entrust Naruto’s care to Hiruzen Sarutobi and Beichen Haotian. 100

Beichen later questions Hiruzen about Naruto’s arrangements, stressing that a hero’s child must not be mistreated. Although Hiruzen claims Naruto has guards and Konoha’s best caretakers, Haotian remains doubtful. 103 Years later, Haotian reveals Naruto’s parentage to him and accepts him as his nephew. 108

Personality

Naruto is impulsive and prone to acting beyond his capabilities. Beichen reprimands him for recklessness after finding him trapped in genjutsu, warning that he can endanger both himself and others. 137

Despite this, Naruto is resilient and compassionate. After learning about the Nine-Tails’ isolation, he chooses to seek friendship with the being sealed inside him rather than simply fear it. 138 He remains devoted to Sasuke after his defection and joins Sakura and Jiraiya in seeking him out. 128 129
