History

Second Shinobi World War

Konoha entered the Second Shinobi World War under the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. Its First and Fourth Legions were deployed to the Land of Rain, where Konoha fought alongside Sunagakure and Iwagakure against Amegakure. 8 9

The village maintained supply routes and medical transports behind the front while deploying young ninja to gain battlefield experience under Anbu supervision. 8 9 Konoha's forces ultimately pushed Amegakure back after the battle between Hanzo and Hiruzen's three disciples ended in Hanzo's withdrawal. 11

War against Sunagakure

Konoha later opened a major campaign against Sunagakure. Its command pursued a strategy of frontal pressure combined with covert assassination operations against Sand Village officers, intending to exploit Konoha's superior Jonin numbers and preserve as much military strength as possible. 21

The decisive battle lasted three days and nights. Konoha's White Fang, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Tsunade's medical support network, and its clan forces gave the village a decisive advantage, forcing Sunagakure to retreat toward the Land of Wind. 23

A later war against Sunagakure severely weakened the Sand Village; it was considered unable to threaten Konoha for at least a decade afterward. 77

Conflicts with Kirigakure

Konoha mobilized a new legion against Kirigakure, including major clan forces from the Uchiha and Hyuga clans. Danzō served as the Hokage's aide within this force, as the clan heads required a figure of sufficient authority to coordinate them. 78

After the Fourth Mizukage's defeat, Konoha gradually gained control of the conflict. The war ended in Konoha's victory, though both sides sustained heavy losses. 87

Hokage Succession and Internal Affairs

Following the Third Hokage's retirement, Minato Namikaze was elected Fourth Hokage in a public succession ceremony witnessed by Konoha's officials, ninja, and civilians. 88

Orochimaru later defected after his human experiments were exposed. 88 During the Chunin Exams, Konoha was attacked by Sunagakure and Otogakure forces; Beichen Haotian defended the village by defeating a giant snake and dispatching Shadow Clones against the invading ninja. 117

Unification of the Ninja World

Beichen Haotian publicly advanced the idea of unifying the Ninja World under Konoha to reduce future conflict. His proposal persuaded Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki to join Konoha's side. 123

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Tsunade relinquished the Hokage position to Danzō so that he could oversee the violent measures connected to Konoha's unification campaign. 158 Beichen Haotian later compelled Iwagakure and Kumogakure to surrender, bringing the plan close to completion. 167

After returning to Konoha, Haotian took command of the unified Ninja World and revived several historic figures, including the First through Fourth Hokage, Kushina Uzumaki, Fugaku Uchiha, Mikoto Uchiha, and the Fourth Kazekage. 172

• Beichen Haotian's unification of the Ninja World elevated Konoha's prestige to an unprecedented level. Villagers and ninja began worshipping him, constructed a colossal statue in his honor, carved his face onto the Hokage Rock, and treated Lingxiao Mountain as a sacred site. 172
