Mind Flayer Carlos stared blankly and dumbfoundedly at everything before him.
At the same time, he kept instinctively trying to peel the thing stuck to his forehead off.
If nothing unexpected had happened, he should more or less be dead already.
Under such a terrifying explosion, he reckoned that even his old superior, the Lord Governor of Iron Melting Fortress, might not have been able to withstand it.

In theory, even in death, adhering to the Mind Flayer Elder Brain supremacy principle that all waste must be recycled and reused, when Mind Flayers were dying or already dead, every effort would be made to bring those Tribe Members back to the Elder Brain. Their bodies would become nourishment for Mind Flayer larvae, while their souls would merge with the Elder Brain's consciousness.

Yet just as Carlos's soul had 'left his body,' he witnessed an incomparably magnificent meteor shower.
Then one of them struck him.
It smashed him straight into the Lower Plane.
And some octopus-like thing had stuck itself to his head, impossible to tear off no matter what he did!
What puzzled him, however, was that they had not been soaked in the dreadful River Styx like other departed souls.
Instead, they were held aloft by a mysterious force, speeding along the River Styx as though gliding.
"Awoo~"
Carlos looked over woodenly and saw a burly wolf-like 'departed soul' let out a loud, flamboyant howl.
Then, with both paws tucked behind his head, he did sit-ups while animatedly telling the surrounding 'departed souls':
"Hey! Guys! Told you
