Background / History

Ogedei is a veteran White Scars officer who fought for the Imperium and Jaghatai Khan for two centuries. He participated in campaigns from Ullanor to Prospero and lost many brothers during the White Scars’ internal conflict, leaving him fiercely hostile toward the traitor legions 10 12.

After the White Scars’ civil strife, the Falcon Brotherhood was reduced to a fraction of its strength. Jaghatai Khan detached Ogedei’s force from the main Legion fleet and assigned it to escort Apothecary and Biologis Master Kunto to Mars 24.

During the journey, Ogedei detected a Sons of Horus Firestorm-class frigate approaching Cheslatan. Knowing the Dagger could not win a conventional naval engagement, he led a torpedo-boarding assault against the larger vessel. His squad destroyed its power core, causing the ship to crash, but the entire boarding team was lost and Ogedei’s legs were destroyed 24.

Fu Qinghai found Ogedei trapped beneath wreckage in the crashed ship. After a hostile first meeting centered on Ogedei’s loyalty, Fu Qinghai shocked him with an improvised lance, retrieved a power sword, and assisted him in amputating his crushed legs. Ogedei survived by consuming organic matter from enemy corpses and returned to the colonial outpost with Fu Qinghai and Feiyi 10.

At the outpost, Ogedei declared martial control, displaced administrator Calvin from authority, directed salvage efforts, and had Fu Qinghai repair communications equipment so he could contact the Dagger 11. Talal subsequently arrived to retrieve him.

Ogedei remained loyal to Jaghatai Khan and the Imperium despite having participated in a Warrior Lodge. When Fu Qinghai discovered the Lodge token in his quarters, Ogedei acknowledged his involvement but maintained that he had not betrayed the Khan 14.
