Yu Xiaogang is the son of Thunder Douluo Yu Yuanzhen. His martial soul failed to awaken into the powerful form expected of his lineage, instead becoming the degraded mutated Luo Sanpao; he was consequently regarded as a laughingstock. 22

He is Yu Yuanzhen's youngest son and possesses only half a rank of innate soul power. These limitations contribute to his poor standing within the Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect and his determination to establish himself through theoretical research rather than cultivation. 22 86

Unable to advance beyond level 29 for a long period, he turned toward martial soul theory. Bibi Dong refuses to give him the secret, suspecting his intentions. When she reveals that she has targeted Tang San, Yu Xiaogang furiously threatens Martial Soul Hall and declares that Tang San is like a son to him. 136 137

Qian Renxue, having learned of Yu Xiaogang's history with Bibi Dong and its role in her family's destruction, sends Golden Crocodile Douluo to capture him. Yu Xiaogang, Flender, and Liu Erlong attempt to resist with the Golden Sacred Dragon, but Golden Crocodile Douluo's Martial Soul Avatar shatters the fusion in a single exchange. 505

Yu Xiaogang is knocked unconscious and taken to Spirit City, where Qian Renxue orders his imprisonment. She has him placed in a cell with violent inmates under instructions to give him a “proper welcome,” and the ensuing torture reduces him to terrified screams. 505 506

The Comparison Sky Screen's broadcast of this fate causes Yu Xiaogang profound humiliation in both worlds; Liu Erlong is his principal source of comfort, while Tang San privately takes satisfaction in the downfall of the teacher he believes deceived and used him. 506

The emotional consequences persist during later broadcasts. While Flender and the other White World teachers admire Shrek Academy's future greatness, Yu Xiaogang remains depressed by the contrast with his own imprisonment and torture. 548

During footage of the Peerless Tang Sect era, Tang San observes Huo Yuhao through a Void Mirror and reveals his plan to guide the era's “Child of Destiny” into the Tang Sect and Shrek Academy. Despite the earlier scandals, the future Shrek Academy commemorates Yu Xiaogang with a statue alongside Flender, Liu Erlong, and the Shrek Seven Devils.
