It Wasn't Me!
late at night.
Lynch, Benson, and Melissa finished discussing their plans. They intended to go to Backlund next year to work and study, so as not to delay their work.
Of course, Lynch was the main one making the arrangements.
He planned to leave Tingen soon, even though he hadn't Advancement after the divine descent incident. But it wouldn't be long before he used the excuse of avenging Klein to take Sequence 7 Potion and then go directly to Backlund with Dunn and the others.
If he goes to Backlund, he will naturally bring Moretti and his sister along. They've been together for so long that Lynch has come to regard them as family.
Klein is dead, so he has to take responsibility for it.
Oh, although Klein isn't dead yet.
But I can talk to Benson and Melissa first. They can share the apartment if they go to Backlund. It's really boring to live alone. When I come back, I won't even have anyone to talk to.
What about me?
As they finished discussing everything and were getting ready to rest, Klein couldn't help but ask.
Lynch's plan was excellent, so why wasn't he included?
Moreover, he always felt that Lynch's words and actions seemed to have left him out, as if he no longer existed at that time.
"You're definitely going to Backlund too! We can't all go there and you're all staying home alone, can we?"
Lynch looked at him with a puzzled expression, which immediately made Klein think he was overthinking things.
That makes sense. Benson and Melissa won't be going to Backlund until the end of the year. By then, he'll have definitely digested the Clown Potion and taken the subsequent Potion recipe.
That senior said something big was going to happen in Tingen, so if he made the people he cared about leave beforehand, he wouldn't really care too much about what happened.
At most, he'd call the police, which would be enough to ease his guilt.
Klein took a breath, feeling that his method was excellent.
Wait, he doesn't seem to know the Seer's Sequence 7 Potion recipe yet!
However, Klein glanced at Lynch, who definitely knew that he had to find a way to create a small account on Sefirah Castle and then buy it from Lynch.
The problem is that it requires money.
Where did he get the money?!
The Sequence 7 Potion recipe is definitely expensive. Even if Lynch doesn't ask for money at Sefirah Castle, Miss Justice will help him get the money for the recipe. And he, the Fool, can't just watch his members suffer setbacks.
So, borrow the money from Lynch!
Judging from Lynch's changed opinion of the Fool at Sefirah Castle, Lynch might be willing to take out money to use. He'll definitely borrow a thousand pounds then!
Of course, this is a last resort; if he could obtain it in reality, he naturally wouldn't have gone to Lynch to buy it.
After all, he and Lynch were colleagues, and Lynch knew he was Seer. There were people in Sefirah Castle buying the Seer's Sequence 7 Potion recipe, and he just happened to have the Potion recipe. This could very well lead to his exposure.
Oh, that's terrible.
How could an evil god live such a miserable life?
Klein sighed deeply, said goodbye to Benson and Melissa, and walked into his room under Benson's hesitant gaze.
He knew why Benson was acting this way: he was worried that Lynch would tell Benson about the civil service exam, causing him to be exposed, so he stopped Benson in advance.
He also secretly told Benson Mountbatten he got the information from Officer Mountbatten, who worked within the system. If Lynch found out that Mountbatten had leaked the information beforehand, Lynch might report Mountbatten.
Benson thought Lynch would never report Mountbatten and that he was overthinking things. Only after being pressed by Mountbatten did he manage to keep quiet. However, Klein guessed that Benson now thought he was a bit of a dark person.
It's astonishing that they would dare to question Lynch like that.
However, Klein pretended not to care. As long as he didn't get caught, at most Benson would have some suspicions, which was nothing to worry about.
The next morning, when Lynch and Klein entered the security company, they found Daly waiting for them in the reception room!
Lynch greeted her, assuming that Miss Daly was likely there to see Dunn, or at least on important business. It couldn't possibly be that Daly was there to see him and Klein, Dunn it?
Even Klein thought so. They showed themselves and prepared to go to the archives to look at books, but they were stopped by Daly.
"Dunn wrote me a love letter, saying it was all thanks to the efforts of you two little guys, and I came here specifically to thank you."
If I let him figure it out on his own, I don't know how long it would take. Besides, I can't believe that Dunn doesn't look down on me. You know I wasn't exactly a good girl before."
Daly watched them in a good mood.
Lynch shook his head helplessly, then looked at Klein.
"How did you write the letter for the captain? You even specifically mentioned the two of us in it? Did you run out of things to write?"
He had never seen anyone write a love letter to someone else; it was simply absurd.
Klein's lips twitched slightly.
He felt utterly wronged.
Last night, Dunn appeared in his dream and urged him to write a love letter with cheesy words. He endured the silence and forced himself to finish writing it and hand it to Dunn. He never expected that Dunn would add random content to it.
Who writes a love confession letter that also thanks their brother for his efforts? This isn't a thank-you letter.
Wait, how did Lynch know?
Klein suddenly turned to look at Lynch. The captain had asked him to write a love letter yesterday, but he hadn't told anyone.
"Well, I only added a barely noticeable hint, like telling the captain that your writing is quite good."
Lynch chuckled awkwardly, but then immediately remembered the phrase "thank you for being a brother" in the love confession letter, and quickly changed the subject.
"Can't you teach the captain a lesson? He dreams of marrying Miss Daly every day, and all you do in your love letter is thank your brother?"
Klein cried out that he was innocent.
"It wasn't me!"
"It really wasn't him; I added it myself. I don't have the writing skills to write a love letter, and I never thought I could write something like this. It was all thanks to your reminders that I was able to tell Daly my feelings. Daly and I are very grateful to you."
Dunn walked over with a gentle voice.
He and Daly exchanged a glance and smiled knowingly.
"That's just too much dog food!"
Klein couldn't help but complain.
Before Lynch could even agree, Leonard asked curiously, "Why do you say that?"
"Because you're all single dogs, that's how Roselle described it."
Miss Daly said without any politeness, her smile widening, making the single men present wish they could separate her from Dunn. It was too much; they had even made ample preparations for Dunn and Daly to be together.
"Alright, Dunn and I will thank you for your efforts. I was so excited last night that I took the night off to come here, and I also made plans with Dunn to go to Backlund. So you guys need to think carefully about who would be willing to be the captain of Tingen after Dunn leaves?"
