Not long after the meal, Elizabeth said goodbye and left.

Elizabeth had come today specifically to see Lynch and wanted to say a few more words to him, but there were too many people in Melissa's family, Elizabeth couldn't get her words out. In the end, she could only tell herself that she should find more cases next time so that she would have a legitimate reason to see Lynch.

"I guarantee Miss Elizabeth will like you!"

Benson watched Elizabeth's departing figure, then winked at Lynch with amusement, only to be immediately glared at by Melissa.

"Don't say things like that. Elizabeth's family has very high standards; they demand at least ten pounds a week, and Lynch only gets three pounds! Right, Lynch?"

Melissa looked at Lynch.

Lynch had been telling Melissa and the others that he earned two pounds a week. Later, when Klein got a raise, he said he had also gotten a raise of one pound. After all, he didn't have Klein's qualifications. If he said he was now earning six pounds, Melissa and the others would be alarmed and wonder if his superiors had taken a liking to him.

So he kept saying he was only three pounds, not intending to cause himself any trouble.

He nodded in agreement upon hearing Melissa's words.

"Yes! A rich woman like Miss Elizabeth... cough, a girl of that status, her family's requirements are too high. I'd rather choose a girl from an ordinary background, otherwise I might not be able to afford to support them, that's a fact."

He shrugged.

It's not that he has no needs at all, it's just that he feels that in this era, choosing a lover and having children with her would put him under too much pressure. He's already in a position of relying on Mr. Azik's influence, so he can't possibly add his wife and children to that list.

Let's wait and see, until Klein becomes a god.

Anyway, it won't be long; he probably won't even have graduated from the Tingen University by then!

"That's true, Miss Elizabeth is of noble birth."

Benson nodded, then looked at Melissa with a joking expression and mouthed to her, "An ordinary girl."

Melissa blushed and immediately rushed into the kitchen, taking over the dishwashing duties from the maid, trying to calm herself down.

Perhaps that's not what Mr. Trance meant!

Besides, there are so many girls with ordinary backgrounds, would they definitely choose her?

"Wash your hands, take a look at this, I thought this would suit you on the way here."

Lynch took out a hair clip from his pocket. It was studded with a few diamonds, not very expensive, and quite pretty.

So he casually bought a small bunch, intending to give one to each of his wealthy female sisters, so they could maintain their relationships.

Of course, Melissa isn't the rich older sister; she's the younger sister.

"This must be expensive, right? Lynch, you still need to save money to get married. You can't be so extravagant. The money you're spending on cakes, drinks, and hair clips is unnecessary..."

Melissa nervously refused.

Lynch simply put it in her hair.

"This is nothing. I'm not getting married now. When I do get married, it will be at least five years from now, which will give me enough time to save some money."

You know what, it looks really good, and it goes perfectly with your new dress. This way, when you entertain friends, you won't go without any accessories. I saw all those girls wearing jewelry on their heads, necks, and hands."

Lynch admired the items with satisfaction, and then decided to buy some more; it seemed that girls generally liked these little things.

Even though he might not be interested in the wealthy young woman, she is sincere towards him.

For some reason, Melissa's face turned even redder.

Do you have a fever?

Lynch glanced at her, then asked blankly.

He turned his gaze to Klein, hoping the guy could tell him if Melissa was sick.

Klein instinctively tossed in some gold coins, then rolled his eyes without even looking at them.

Lynch himself made Melissa blush, and she's still pretending to ask him questions.

Five years, huh? Melissa will be taking her college entrance exams soon, and then adding four years of college, it'll be exactly five years. Who is Lynch implying?

He flirted with Melissa right in front of him and Benson, acting completely oblivious. How come he didn't know Lynch had this skill?

However, he immediately remembered that Lynch seemed to have another rumored love interest, Megose, was that her name?

What is your relationship with Megose?

Klein became more alert and asked.

Lynch paused for a moment before remembering the wealthy woman.

This wealthy woman even gives him ten pounds of pocket money every week; she's such a good girl.

"Megose is Mr. Azik's student. She went to Mr. Azik to say she wanted to drop out of school. I reminded her not to trust men too much and that her studies were more important. She didn't believe me and thought I was being rude."

Later, I ran into her being harassed by her fiancé, who wanted to take her to a friend's house. She clearly didn't want to, and I stepped in to stop him.

Then I heard news about her again, this time about the Lanevus fraud case. Her fiancé was clearly Lanevus. I can't believe I missed out on such a great opportunity! I should have caught them red-handed back then!

Lynch felt a bit annoyed at this thought.

He had asked Hanass and his team to handle Lanevus's body, and he hadn't even bothered to take any of Lanevus's Beyonder Characteristic, which was a complete waste of money.

"Uh, that's it?"

Klein stared at him speechlessly. He had thought Lynch was deliberately seducing Megose, but he hadn't expected that after only two meetings, Megose would already be so deeply in love?

Why doesn't anyone treat him like this?

Klein touched his face and thought he was just as good-looking as anyone else; those women must all be shallow girls!

However, he was quite satisfied with Lynch. Having transmigrated, he knew that men were unreliable, and of course there were good men, but studies were obviously more important. Lynch even knew this, so it seemed that if Melissa married him, she would definitely have a good life.

"Five years, I hope you really hold back for five years. I've been keeping an eye on you!"

Klein muttered a warning.

Melissa couldn't be like that Megose skipped school for Lynch; some of the girls here were a bit dim-witted, and he didn't want her to be like Melissa.

However, he found himself glared at by Melissa after he finished speaking, and then, as if she had done something wrong, she apologized to Lynch somewhat embarrassedly.

"Sorry, I don't know what's wrong with Klein and Benson today, they keep saying strange things... Actually, it could have been earlier."

She finished speaking in a low voice, then hurriedly slipped on her slippers and went upstairs.

Watching her retreating figure, Lynch scratched his head in confusion. Something felt off. He'd said he'd get married in five years, so why were so many people watching him?

Is this really necessary?

Could it be that she thinks he's just all talk and is deliberately provoking him?

Melissa is much better; at least she knows how to save face for him. Otherwise, if he were to get married early, he would definitely be ridiculed by Klein and the others.
