Lynch really wanted to answer thirty pounds, and then break Mrs. Sammer's guard as she tried to show off to them, but he held back and said gently, "Six pounds, our weekly wage is six pounds."

There are only so many regular police officers.

"That's great, I guessed that's it, not much different from my husband's, but my husband's salary is calculated annually, you've definitely heard of that. By the way, where do you live now? Is your house as spacious as ours? How many maids and servants do you employ?"

She sat up straight and asked again.

Just as Lynch was about to say that she was asking too many questions, Miss Daly spoke up first, waving her hand and looking at Mrs. Sammer seriously.

"We're here to investigate; we don't have time for idle chatter. You and your servants, please see if you've seen this person before?"

She took out a portrait of Ian.

Mrs. Sammer was somewhat displeased, but after glancing at Miss Daly's serious expression, she gave Ian a helpless look and then told a servant to take a look at the portrait.

"I have no idea who he is. To be honest, if Mr. Moriarty hadn't lived here, I would never have seen anyone with that kind of face. He doesn't look like one of those nobles."

Mrs. Sammer said unhappily.

Neither Lynch nor Daly spoke; they were observing the expressions of the servants.

One of the maids had a different expression than the others; it was clear she had seen Ian.

"You've seen it before, right? Where?"

Lynch walked over and asked softly.

The other person was startled. He glanced at Mrs. Sammer and, seeing that she hadn't stopped him, hurriedly explained, "I've seen Mr. Moriarty. Mrs. Sammer asked me to help Mr. Moriarty with cooking and housework."

Last night I saw this boy go to see Mr. Moriarty. He asked Mr. Moriarty to help him find someone, but Mr. Moriarty refused. I heard the fee was five pounds!

Mrs. Sammer looked at the maid in surprise, then exclaimed in a low voice, "Five pounds? He refused five pounds? Didn't he say he didn't have much money?"

The maid clearly didn't know the reason, Mrs. Sammer could only mutter that Mr. Moriarty had no idea how to make money and would eventually have to move away because of poverty.

Lynch and Daly exchanged a glance, then subtly inquired about Moriarty before taking their leave.

In the afternoon, they searched the area again, but only Mrs. Sammer's maid had seen Ian; the others had no idea who the boy was.

"It seems we'll have to visit Mr. Moriarty's dream tonight and ask him if he knows who Ian is looking for. That might help us find Ian."

Lynch said, sitting in the carriage.

He and Daly had been waiting in the carriage for Klein to come home.

If Klein doesn't come back at night, they'll call the police for him; if Klein does come back, they'll go into his Dream Infiltration to check on him.

"No, that's not necessarily true."

Suddenly, Daly spoke, and then Lynch sensed a little Spirit World appear in front of him.

The other person bowed slightly when they saw Lynch, and then handed the letter to Daly.

"This is my messenger; it seems to like you quite a bit."

"That's what Daly said in surprise."

"I suspect it's my status Blessed that's at work; it's terrified of the Goddess's power, that's why it's acting this way. Otherwise, I don't think I have anything special about me."

Lynch quickly explained.

They were afraid that Miss Daly might suspect something.

However, Miss Daly clearly did not suspect anything.

After the divine intervention in Tingen, everyone knew how much the Goddess favored Lynch.

The Goddess not only helped Lynch deal with his Divine Child mother, but also granted Lynch the Creeping Hunger. What shocked them even more was that the Goddess sealed most of the negative effects of the Creeping Hunger, so that each use would only cause Lynch pain and he would no longer need to absorb life.

Many Beyonder within the Church of the Goddess now envy Lynch, and some even suspect that Lynch is the Goddess's favored son; otherwise, why would she take such good care of him?

Didn't you see that even Your Excellency Cecimir never received such an honor?

So even if her messenger bowed to Lynch, or even if her messenger kowtowed to Lynch, Miss Daly wouldn't see anything wrong with it.

"Look at this, Dunn wrote to me. He said he wants me to go back now; he has another request for me. He'll send someone to find you in a bit. It's a member who was just transferred to the Holy Cathedral See today; I haven't even met him yet!"

Lynch was somewhat speechless.

Is it really necessary?

He guessed that this was due to the Goddess's influence; the Goddess was worried that Daly would discover Klein's situation, so she transferred Daly away.

Sending a newcomer now, along with this guy who already knew all along, will surely allow Klein to get through the socially awkward phase again.

However, Lynch didn't intend to let Klein get away with it easily; he planned to linger in Klein's dream a little longer.

I really wish I could see the Fool's face contorted with despair.

"I have a question: if we've never met the newcomer before, how will she recognize me?"

There are no telephones in this day and age, so if we meet and don't recognize each other, we might think the other person didn't come!

"Don't worry, she's also a Seer; she can determine which one is you."

Miss Daly waved Dunn's letter, Dunn clearly contained the news.

"Alright! I hope that newcomer can divine my fate, and I hope she can hurry up. She's keeping watch here. Let me go out and find something to eat; I'm starving."

Lynch muttered.

He felt so hungry he could eat a whole cow; he really wanted to eat.

"It depends. If you haven't seen her by the time I get back, you can contact me via messenger, and I'll have him bring you some food."

Daly smiled when she saw his expression.

Lynch looked at her with surprise. This kind lady was just as good as Dunn, actually willing to send him food by messenger!

"This is the method to summon my messenger; these are the materials."

Daly wrote down her method for summoning the messenger for Lynch, and also left some materials, all of which could be reimbursed by the Nighthawks team; she carried quite a lot with her.

Lynch quickly put his things away, preparing to wait half an hour. If he didn't see the newlyweds, he would summon Miss Daly's messenger.

To his surprise, he saw the newcomer about ten minutes later.

This is a woman who looks more like a vassal; she is wearing a black robe and her face is mostly covered by a hood, leaving only her red lips exposed.

"My third eye tells me that I will meet my partner here. Hello, I am Bersha."

Her voice was soft, somewhat like a charlatan's, and Lynch always suspected that she was about to ask him for money at any moment.

"I am Lynch Trans, can you tell me when the owner of the house will return?"

Lynch pointed to Klein's house; he had been waiting for a long time.

"Tianmu told me he's coming back soon, right now."

Bersha whispered, Lynch saw a burly man with a full beard and a shaved head walking towards them from a street corner in the distance.

His lips twitched.

No, Mr. Fool, aren't you going a bit too far to keep them from discovering your true identity?
