It's the One Behind
"It wasn't him, it was the one behind him."
Bersha spoke softly, pointing behind the bald man to a man who seemed completely unrelated to Klein. If Lynch hadn't been looking at the man's answer while observing Klein's, he wouldn't have noticed anything amiss.
So this is the protagonist's ability?
"I suspect he was wearing makeup, but it wasn't very heavy."
Bersha spoke again.
"Makeup? Wow, that's amazing! It really is a complete makeover!"
Lynch clicked his tongue in amazement, but still said nonchalantly, "I know that these Detective sometimes disguise themselves when they go out. I just hope he doesn't change too much in his dreams."
"I can't guarantee that; that's all I can divine."
Bersha shrugged. Lynch thought the lady was being too modest; her takeover was quite good, even better than Klein's failure to take over Sefirah Castle.
Of course, this is just his feeling, and if he's wrong, it's none of his business.
"Alright, now that he's back, you stay here and keep watch. I'm going out to get something to eat. Do you want some? I'll bring you some."
Lynch jumped down from the carriage and asked.
Bersha nodded immediately.
"Eat up! Bring plenty, I have a big appetite!"
Lynch didn't take it to heart. He went out and ate a meal by himself, then brought back two late-night snacks, along with two extra pieces of black bread and some cream, thinking that would definitely be enough for Bersha.
But he was soon found out and his words were proven wrong.
Bersha ate just as much as him.
Bersha was different from usual when she ate. She took off her large hood and threw her coat aside, revealing a pale yellow dress that made her look somewhat childish.
His eating manners were similar to Lynch's; he would first stuff his mouth full, then swallow hard before showing a look of comfort.
"I'm starving! I didn't eat lunch. Did I scare you?"
Bersha turned and glanced at Lynch, then smiled.
Lynch shook his head. He wasn't scared, but he felt the woman's personality was too different.
I thought you would be a real Seer.
He pointed that out.
Bersha nodded. "Yes, I've always been a genuine player, but that's all that matters—that's what others think. I'm still myself. For example, I prefer pale yellow. Do you think it looks good?"
She showed off her dress.
Lynch thought it was pretty good.
"You know about Acting Method?"
Bersha saw him nod, stuffed another big mouthful of food into her mouth, and then asked curiously.
Lynch nodded again.
He even used Acting Method to get some credit from Dunn back then!
"But why didn't you play the role? I remember you were already Nightmare, weren't you?"
Bersha gave Lynch a strange look.
This gentleman was handsome, and people couldn't help but look at his face. But that's why Bersha thought he should cover his face so that people wouldn't notice his face first, but rather his identity Nightmare.
"Yes, Nightmare, but I don't think Nightmare needs to wear any special clothes, right? Can't it just be portrayed in a dream?"
He asked hesitantly.
Bersha shook her head again.
"How could that be? Nightmare wear clothes too, like in plays Nightmare. They usually wear suits, terrifying makeup, and have scary smiles. You don't have any of that, so no one will be afraid of you."
Bersha became interested and told Lynch that she had been taking the Seer's Seer for two months and would soon be able to Potion Seer.
"You really should listen to my experience; I'm the most talented member in our group!"
Lynch fell silent.
Two months----
He digested it in half a month, while Mr. Fool only took a month. They were almost digesting Sequence 8 in two months.
However, Lynch didn't defend himself because he thought it might be inappropriate to mock his colleague like that.
Of course, a more likely reason is that he saw Klein lying down fully clothed from the second-floor window.
Klein clearly knew they were coming, so he deliberately pretended to be falling asleep so that he could drift off to Dream Infiltration quickly.
"Can you do a divination? Is there any danger if I Dream Infiltration right now?"
Lynch nudged Bersha and urged her on.
He had felt a bit of awe towards Bertha when Bersha was putting on airs earlier, but now he felt the same way about Bersha as he would about an ordinary male colleague, without any sense of unfamiliarity.
I've noticed you seem to be disrespecting me.
Bersha muttered.
However, I resigned myself to taking it.
"No problem, the divination results tell me you can enter Dream Infiltration now, there won't be any issues."
Lynch nodded, but did not claim it immediately.
"I advise you to go now, otherwise if you miss the appointed time, the divination results may become unreliable."
Bersha urged.
Lynch shook his head.
"I once had a teammate who claimed the first move, and his experience taught me that the answer to 'claim' isn't always reliable, and it's not a magic bullet. You must remember that!"
Bersha's expression shifted; she felt her Potion was almost completely digested.
"Wow, that's amazing! Your colleague must have become High Sequence Beyonder by now."
"Bersha Pesa sighed."
With just two sentences, she was able to digest the Potion; how can that not be impressive?
He is indeed very capable.
Lynch gave a perfunctory sigh and urged Bersha to do another divination.
"Didn't you say that the results of divination are unreliable?"
"That was sometimes, but it's still believable now!"
Lynch laughed.
If he hadn't failed to install the Pathway to occupy the next player's spot, he would have occupied it himself.
Today, he imitated the Sleepless through one Pathway and the Warrior Pathway another. He planned to go in and beat up Klein first, and then say that he was trying to digest the Nightmare's Potion.
The captain's reminder today has eased his mind considerably regarding the Integrator Potion, and he has also identified what Integrator needs to be careful about.
Another thing he needs to do is to frequently combine the two abilities.
He planned to show Mr. Fool his work in his dream.
Mr. Fool is no ordinary person; Mr. Fool high status makes it easier for him to digest the Potion than for others.
Are you planning to Dream Infiltration now?
Bersha put on her Seer's coat and hood, transforming back into the mysterious woman she had been before.
"Don't rush, let me recite the poem first. What if he doesn't fall asleep and beats me up if I go straight to Dream Infiltration?"
Lynch, with a cynical mind, wondered what Klein was thinking. What if Klein also wanted to beat him up? Wouldn't he have taken the beating for nothing?
Wait, he's stronger Klein now, he's Sequence 7, Mr. Fool is only Sequence 8, so it's fine.
Just wait!
He immediately Dream Infiltration to enlighten Mr. Fool!
