Background / History

Su Chen was an extreme rock climber in his previous life. He died after slipping during a rainstorm while free-solo climbing El Capitan, then transmigrated to the Douluo Continent as an orphan. After seven years of laboring to afford an awakening ceremony, he discovered that he possessed a martial soul but had zero soul power. The Douluo Simulator activated immediately afterward, giving him a path to alter that fate. 1

His first simulation placed him in the Heaven Dou Empire as an orphan adopted by Zhang Lexuan's family. The simulated life culminated in his becoming the feared “Gray Terror,” but its completion granted him the Pluto Sword, Innate Full Spirit Power, the Underworld Rebirth Domain, and the Three Forms of the Pluto Sword Art in reality. 3 4

A second simulation granted him King Crimson: Future, permanently established Epitaph as an innate ability, bestowed the Time Erasure Domain, and raised his soul power by ten levels. Armed with twin martial souls and knowledge carried over from his simulated lives, Su Chen sought out the Body Sect rather than enrolling at Shrek Academy. 18 23

The Body Sect recognized his exceptional Body Martial Soul potential. Du Busi accepted him as a closed-door disciple and prepared him to claim the Young Sect Master position. Su Chen defeated Long Aotian in under three seconds during the arena assessment, becoming the sect's sole Young Sect Master. 25 29

After his fourth simulation, Su Chen used acquired Battle Armor and Mecha blueprints to transform the Body Sect's development strategy. He organized its elders and disciples into forging, design, and core-array teams, personally retaining responsibility for the most sensitive engraving work. 66 68

Su Chen is a tall, slender youth with an upright bearing. He commonly dresses in fitted black clothing decorated with dark-gold patterns, projecting a composed and imposing presence even when entering combat casually. 91

Despite his coldness toward adversaries and negotiators, Su Chen is patient with companions. He respects Zhang Lexuan's obligations to Shrek, reassures Di Qiu'er about their future, and uses rare resources to improve the strength and security of those around him. 26 53 87
