Background / History
Beirut is the native Sovereign of the Yulan Continent and its unquestioned strongest resident. Unable to let his Sovereign clone leave the continent, he spent thousands of years observing its inhabitants for an exceptional talent capable of passing his trials and eventually standing with him against the Chief Sovereign of Light. 15
He is the first God-Slaying Rat and has many descendants among rodent-type magical beasts, including god-level descendants. Before the story, he had unsuccessfully sought a way to awaken the God-Slaying Rat bloodline in his lineage. Bebe's birth as the second God-Slaying Rat greatly excited him; Chen Feng's activation of the bloodline as a human impressed him even more. 11 15
His longstanding enmity with Augusta, the Chief Sovereign of Light, began after Beirut seized the corpses of the Four Divine Beasts roughly ten thousand years earlier. The conflict left his Sovereign clone confined to the Yulan Continent, making regaining its freedom one of Beirut's central ambitions. 75 90
Appearance
Beirut usually appears in human form as a small, elderly man. He is often relaxed and smiling even when dealing with powerful figures or major events. 15 30
- Usually wears black robes. 30
- Often sits on a rocking chair while monitoring events from afar. 15 72
- Can manifest Sovereign projections as enormous faces condensed from Sovereign Power. 57 72
Personality
Beirut is patient, calculating, and deeply invested in cultivating the God-Slaying Rat bloodline. He watches promising descendants over long periods, provides lavish resources when he sees potential, and deliberately creates opportunities for them to gain experience and renown. 15 38 53
Despite his theatrical manner and occasional teasing, he is sincerely protective of those he accepts as family. He monitored Bebe to prevent any life-threatening danger, recognized Chen Feng as his grandson, protected Wushan Town through direct orders, and repeatedly prepared resources for Chen Feng's safety and growth. 15 20 27 61
He can be manipulative in presentation, such as pretending that the “great Sovereign” had specially approved Chen Feng's entry into the Necropolis of the Gods. However, his actions consistently prioritize his descendants' strength, survival, and future standing. 38 46
Abilities & Skills
Sovereign Authority
As the native Sovereign of the Yulan Continent, Beirut is considered invincible within the plane. His authority is sufficient to compel god-level magical beasts such as Dylin to obey his commands. 15 27
- Ordered all Saint Realm magical beasts to stay away from Wushan Town. 27
- Can project his presence through manifestations of Sovereign Power. 57
- Maintained control over the Yulan Continent even after his Sovereign clone regained freedom, purging foreign god-level experts before departing for the Infernal Realm. 100
Divine Sense and Surveillance
Beirut's divine sense can envelop the Yulan Continent, allowing him to detect significant breakthroughs and monitor those under his protection. 15 30
- Identified Bebe as the second God-Slaying Rat shortly after awakening from slumber. 15
- Detected Chen Feng's activated God-Slaying Rat bloodline in the Magical Beast Mountain Range. 15
- Immediately sensed Chen Feng's ascent to godhood. 30
God-Slaying Rat Bloodline
Beirut is the original God-Slaying Rat and regards the proliferation of this lineage as a long-term goal. The bloodline's innate divine ability, God-Slaying, is feared among Highgods; ordinary Highgods without Grand Perfection strength or a soul-defending Sovereign Artifact cannot withstand it. 15 68
- Recognized Chen Feng's human activation of the bloodline as unprecedented among his descendants. 15
- Considered Chen Feng and Bebe essential hopes for expanding the lineage beyond the Yulan Continent. 30 53
Divine Clones
Beirut possesses a Sovereign clone and a Darkness God Clone. His Darkness God Clone governs Youlan Prefecture in the Infernal Realm, though its Willpower is far below that of his Sovereign clone. 20 68
- His Infernal Realm clone serves as protection and a source of influence for Chen Feng's ventures. 61
- Possesses talents in the Darkness and Wind Elements. 98
Cultivation Guidance
Beirut has extensive knowledge of godhood, Laws, Profound Mysteries, divine clones, and the practical dangers of the higher planes. 20 47
- Explained internal and external godhood to Chen Feng and recommended condensing divine clones to pursue multiple Laws. 20
- Prepared an independent cultivation space with highly active elemental energy. 38
- Used the Necropolis of the Gods to address Chen Feng's lack of combat experience. 46
- Advised Chen Feng to avoid the Plane of Light because of Beirut's unresolved conflict with Augusta. 75
Equipment / Resources
- Three High-level Sovereign Artifacts — a black staff with fivefold material attack, armor with fivefold material defense, and a ring with fivefold soul defense; gifted to Beirut by Chen Feng. 87
- Godheads and divine sparks — maintains substantial reserves and provided Chen Feng with large quantities for cultivation. 38 39
- Highgod artifacts — prepared four longswords aligned with the Laws of Death, Lightning, Darkness, and Light for Chen Feng's divine clones. 39

- Ownerless Sovereign Sparks — retained three Sovereign Sparks after his freedom was secured, though he was willing to transfer them if Chen Feng required them. 90
Relationships

- Bebe — The second God-Slaying Rat and Beirut's treasured descendant. Beirut constantly monitored Bebe while he was weak and treats him as family. 15 52
- Harry, Hart, and Harvey Beirut — Beirut's sons. Their comparatively ordinary God-Slaying Rat inheritance motivates their frustration over Chen Feng's rapid growth. 34 55
- Dylin — A god-level magical beast subject to Beirut's authority; Dylin obeys Beirut's order to keep Saint Realm magical beasts away from Wushan Town. 27
- Bloodridge Sovereign — Fellow Sovereign who proposed making Chen Feng a Sovereign's Emissary; Beirut refused because he had greater plans for Chen Feng. 68 72
- Augusta — Chief Sovereign of Light and Beirut's longstanding enemy. Their conflict kept Beirut's Sovereign clone confined to Yulan until the Sovereigns of the Four Rules intervened. 75 89 90
- Utrecht — Sovereign of Destruction who convened the Sovereign Conference concerning High-level Sovereign Artifacts and negotiated the settlement of Beirut's conflict with Augusta. 87 89
