Hell Slaughter Arena
"Each person is only required to enter the Hell Slaughter Arena once a year. As long as they can pass one battle, they can live in the Slaughter City for another year."
In response, the group said in unison, "Yes, we'll go now."
The Black Veil Maiden frowned, but finally nodded. "In that case, please follow me."
After saying that, she walked into the city.
"Oh, a new one's here. Looks like we're getting a new Bloody Mary. Hehe."
A hoarse voice came from the side.
The group turned to look and saw a gaunt old man squatting in the corner, grinning to reveal a few yellowed teeth, his eyes filled with a sickly excitement.
Tang San frowned.
He thought of the Bloody Mary he had just drunk at the tavern, and his stomach churned again.
Dai Tianyu also glanced at the old man, a hint of disgust flashing in his eyes, and muttered a curse under his breath.
The group scanned their surroundings and found that most of the people in the city, like the old man, looked extremely thin and pale, clearly suffering from anemia and weakness, and were obviously not long for life.
"People like them can also participate in the Hell Slaughter Arena battle once a year?" Tang San asked the Black Veil Maiden with some doubt.
"Of course not. Not everyone needs to be baptized in the Hell Slaughter Arena."
"After all, the mortality rate there is too high."
"Besides enduring a battle in the Hell Slaughter Arena every year, there's another way to survive in the Slaughter City: contribute two Bloody Mary every month."
Before arriving here, Tang San already knew what Bloody Mary was—it was human blood.
Judging from this, that person must have shed a great deal of blood to end up like this, and he probably won't be able to keep up for much longer.
"If we contribute too much Bloody Mary, won't we be at the mercy of others?" Tang San frowned.
The Black Veil Maiden said, "No, you are currently in the outer city of the Slaughter City, not the real Slaughter City."
"Only the inner city is truly a place without rules. Those who contribute Bloody Mary to prolong their lives can only operate in the outer city, where indiscriminate killing is not allowed."
"Only the warriors who survive the Hell Slaughter Arena are qualified to live in the inner city. Of course, the enjoyment there is greater than outside, but one will also face the test of death at any moment."
"So, the Slaughter City is a completely different world."
"So, what is the food source of the Slaughter City?"
"It's probably impossible to grow things in a place like this, and no one would bother to grow them."
As he spoke, his gaze remained fixed on the Black Veil Maiden.
The Black Veil Maiden tilted her head slightly, replying calmly, "The Slaughter City specialized channels for obtaining supplies from the outside world. As for the specifics of those channels, that's not a question I need to answer."
Tang San nodded and did not ask any further questions.
The group walked through the streets of the outer city and came to a black city wall.
There was a huge iron gate on the city wall, tightly closed, with a cold light shining through the cracks.
The Black Veil Maiden stepped forward and gently knocked on the iron gate.
The iron gate slowly opened, revealing a wide street inside.
The streets were lined with all sorts of buildings—taverns, casinos, brothels, you name it.
The lights here are brighter and more eerie than those in the outer city.
Purple and blue light intertwined, illuminating the entire street in a dreamlike light.
There were significantly more pedestrians on the streets than in the outer city, and they all looked much healthier.
Some were dressed in glamorous clothes, while others went shirtless, revealing their scars.
They gathered in small groups; some were laughing and talking loudly in front of the tavern, some were arguing on the roadside, and some were even fighting in the street.
The air was thick with the smells of alcohol and blood.
Dai Tianyu took a deep breath, his eyes filled with excitement, and shouted, "That's more like it!"
Tang San frowned but remained silent.
The Black Veil Maiden led several people across the street to a huge building.
The building was entirely black, circular in shape, and resembled an inverted giant bowl.
At the top of the building is a huge Skeleton sculpture, with purple flames burning in Skeleton eyes, emitting an eerie glow in the darkness.
The building's doors were wide open, with several large, dark red characters engraved on the lintel. "Hell Slaughter Arena."
The Black Veil Maiden stopped, turned around, looked at Fu Shiyan, and asked, "Let me confirm one more time, are you sure you want to go in?"
Fu Shiyan looked at her without saying a word.
Dai Tianyu spoke first, his tone full of impatience. "I'm sure, let's go now!"
Tang San nodded. "Confirmed."
Fu Ze didn't speak, but glanced at Fu Shiyan. Seeing that the Young Master's expression was calm, he didn't say anything either.
The Black Veil Maiden frowned slightly, a strange glint flashing in her eyes.
She opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately nodded.
"In that case, please follow me."
She turned and walked towards the entrance of the Hell Slaughter Arena.
Fu Shiyan followed.
The group entered through the gate, walked through a long corridor, and arrived at a spacious area.
This is a huge circular arena, surrounded by high stands, which are full of people.
The people were all different; some were shirtless, some had strange patterns painted on their faces, and some wore masks made of skulls.
Their gazes were all fixed on the center of the arena, where two people were locked in a life-or-death struggle.
One of them held a long sword and was covered in blood, while the other held a short axe and had a deep, bone-revealing wound on his chest, with blood flowing down his abdomen.
Deafening cheers and shouts erupted from the stands.
"Kill him! Kill him!"
"Cut off his head! Cut off his head!"
"Blood! I want to see blood!"
Those people were shouting at the top of their lungs, their eyes filled with a morbid excitement.
Dai Tianyu watched this scene, a bloodthirsty smile spread across his face.
Tang San frowned, his expression turning somewhat grim.
The Black Veil Maiden led the group to a high platform at the edge of the arena.
Standing on the high platform was a burly man dressed in black armor and wielding a long-handled battle axe.
He had a long scar on his face, stretching from his left eye to the corner of his mouth, and he exuded a fierce aura.
The Black Veil Maiden stepped forward and whispered a few words to the burly man.
The burly man glanced at Fu Shiyan and the others, nodded, and then turned and walked towards the center of the field.
He raised his battle axe and boomed, "New recruits have arrived! Who wants to come up and play with them?"
A burst of laughter erupted from the stands.
"A newcomer? Where did this newcomer come from?"
"Those Xiao Bai? Hahaha, can they even last one round?"
"I'll do it! I'll do it! It's been so long since I killed a newbie!"
A burly man with a full beard jumped down from the stands and landed in the center of the field, holding a huge Iron Hammer in his hand.
He was shirtless, his chest covered in black hair, and his muscles bulged all over his body, making him look like a bear.
He raised the Iron Hammer, pointed it at Fu Shiyan and the others, and grinned, "Who wants to go first?"
Dai Tianyu glanced at him, then turned to look at Fu Shiyan.
Fu Shiyan nodded.
Dai Tianyu grinned and strode towards the center of the field.
His pace was neither hurried nor slow, his black hair fluttered gently in the wind, and a defiant smile played on his lips.
The burly man watched him approach and burst into laughter. "You? A Xiao Bai? Hahahaha! I could smash you into a pulp with one hammer!"
Dai Tianyu stopped, tilted his head to look at him, his eyes full of mockery. "Is that so?"
