Background / History

Liu Zhong was born as the second son of a wealthy family that owned mines. Though free to enjoy a comfortable life because his elder brother was the designated heir, he pursued learning instead. He studied traditional martial arts from childhood, later became a researcher, and retained excellent physical conditioning. 1

During the zombie apocalypse, he awakened a spatial ability: he could maintain storage space and manifest spatial blades. He protected researchers at his institute, participated in the development of an antidote to the zombie virus, and later contributed inventions to post-apocalyptic reconstruction. He died roughly thirty years after the apocalypse ended. 1

After death, Liu Zhong returned to the Primordial World as a willow spirit growing on Jin Ao's back, making Jin Ao Island his home. He learned that he was descended from Great Immortal Yangmei and that Yangmei's protective restrictions concealed him even from Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao. Unable to transform or move from his roots, Liu Zhong planned to survive quietly and eventually seek discipleship under Tongtian Jiaozhu. 1 2

His innate divine ability repeatedly sends his soul into other worlds. He first reincarnates into the Li Duke Mansion of the Red Chamber world, where he forms a close friendship with Jia Hu, develops an intelligence network through Jiqiu, enters official service after placing in the imperial examinations, and marries Jia Yuanchun. 3 5 15 17

After returning briefly to the Primordial World, Liu Zhong is severely injured when the Heaven-Mending Stone triggers Zixiao Divine Thunder. His innate ability then sends him to a martial arts world, where he is reborn as Song Qingshu of Wudang Sect. 35 36

Personality

Liu Zhong is pragmatic, observant, and deeply shaped by memories from several lives. In the Primordial World, he assesses danger realistically and prefers survival over reckless ambition; in the martial arts world, he repeatedly uses foreknowledge and careful planning to avoid the original Song Qingshu's villainous fate. 1 36

He is protective toward people he considers family, especially Jia Hu, Liu Jiaying, and Song Qinghua. He also has a ruthless side: he creates poison to infiltrate the Diamond Sect and later destroys the sect, while his experience during the apocalypse leaves him willing to kill violent threats decisively. 5 41 42

Although he once considered seeking worldly power, the discovery of the Eternal Spring Skill changes his priorities. He abandons aspirations of founding an empire in favor of pursuing immortality and the Dao. 48
