Fourth Holy Grail War

In an altered Fourth Holy Grail War, eight-year-old Rin is caught in the disruption of Kirei Kotomine's planned Assassin summoning. She receives Command Seals on her lower abdomen and accidentally summons Fang Mo's white-haired “Shirako” form, who protects her from a black-armored attacker. The sudden contract drains Rin's underdeveloped magic circuits and causes her to faint. 1070 1071

Tokiomi initially intends to transfer her Command Seals to Kirei for Rin's safety. Fang Mo objects, instead developing Aoi's magic circuits so that Rin and her mother can share the burden of supplying mana. Rin studies mana refinement with Aoi and quickly makes progress. 1072 1073

Rin becomes deeply attached to Shirako, treats her as a best friend, and insists on helping others despite her age—particularly when children disappear and her friend Kotone may be in danger. 1077 1078 After learning that Servants ordinarily disappear once the war ends, she uses the Infinity Holy Grail to wish for Shirako to remain with her forever. 1101 1118 Fang Mo ultimately promises to remain her lifelong friend in his Fourth Entity form. 1119

Fifth Holy Grail War

As a teenager, Rin is the current head and last active magus of the Tohsaka family after her father's death in the previous Holy Grail War. She performs her own summoning ritual and believes Fang Mo to be her Archer-class Servant, unaware that the real Archer has been confined in the Dimensional Prison. 778 791 799

Her first meeting with Fang Mo is volatile: he presents her with precious gems and praises her mana, then threatens her at gunpoint. Rin manages to regain her composure, reason with him, and explain the Holy Grail War's restrictions on harming ordinary people. 778 779

Rin investigates a mana-draining barrier at Suimei Academy, identifies its hidden wedges, and faces Lancer alongside Fang Mo. Though shaken by the destructive scale of the conflict, she remains focused on protecting civilians and worries that the Tohsaka family will be held accountable for damage to the school and city. 781 782 789 791

After Shirou Emiya is killed by Lancer, Rin is devastated because of Sakura's connection to him. She entrusts Shirou to Fang Mo, later forms an alliance with Shirou and Saber, and teaches Shirou basic magecraft. 783 785 790

Following the battle with Gilgamesh and Saber, Rin learns that Fang Mo's claims about his identity and origins were fabricated.
