The middle-aged woman shoved Tang San away and slowly walked toward the door.

Tang San had just been about to lash out when he heard a voice outside the door.

He swallowed nervously. He could easily take down his godfather,
but Dean Flender was a seventy-eighth-level Soul Saint. Even if Tang San used every trick at his disposal, he wouldn't stand a chance.
Tang San glanced out the window, quickly turned the Blue Silver Vines wrapped around him into Soul Power, then leaped from the third-floor window.

Tang San let out a scream.
His right leg had broken in the fall. If not for a Soul Master's superior physical strength, he would have died. Even with his right leg broken, he didn't dare stop. Limping away as fast as he could, he headed straight for Suotuo City First People's Clinic.
As far as he remembered, that was the only place where he could get treated quickly. That way, he wouldn't give anything away when he returned to the academy.
"Xiaogang!"
"Xiaogang, are you all right?"
Flender helped Yu Xiaogang up. He was still unconscious.
Flender quickly went to the window and looked outside. His owl-like eyes immediately spotted Tang San limping away.
"Was that Tang San?"
Flender furrowed his brows, but didn't go after him. Saving Yu Xiaogang was the priority.
A few streams of pure Soul Power struck Yu Xiaogang, and little by little, he came to.
"Flender?"
"Xiaogang, what happened just now? How did you end up unconscious here?"
"Just now?"
Yu Xiaogang patted his head with his one remaining arm and tried to remember.
"I think someone ambushed me just now. It must have been the same person who ambushed me this morning."
Flender's expression changed. "You were ambushed this morning? Why didn't you tell me?"
"It was nothing, so I didn't mention it. I didn't expect them to come again tonight."
"Let's go back first."
With Flender supporting him, Yu Xiaogang managed to get to his feet. His whole body was still numb.
After they returned to Shrek Academy, Flender helped him onto the bed. The numbness still hadn't worn off.

Flender placed the Soul Guidance Storage Bracelet he'd taken from Tang San's hand into Yu Xiaogang's.
Yu Xiaogang was still a little dazed, but the moment he saw the Soul Guidance Storage Bracelet, he snapped to attention and stared at Flender, eyes wide.
"Where did you get this Soul Guidance Storage Bracelet?"
"You knew what it was without even using it?"
Flender looked surprised. "I opened a little Soul Tool shop in Suotuo City."
"Tang San sold it to me this morning."
"Tang San?"

"Yes, Tang San."

"All right, get some rest. I'm heading back."
The door creaked shut. Yu Xiaogang stared at the Soul Guidance Storage Bracelet in his hand, lost in thought.
Could Tang San have ambushed him this morning?
Stolen his things and sold them to Flender?
Then ambushed him again tonight?

Yu Xiaogang quickly got out of bed, yanked open the door, and shouted at Flender's retreating back as loudly as he could.

Flender had still been thinking about Yu Xiaogang's ambush when the shout left him dumbfounded.
Yu Xiaogang slammed the door shut behind him.
"Bang!"
The loud slam echoed through the room.
Flender pushed up his glasses with his right middle finger, utterly baffled.
Yu Xiaogang had been causing trouble ever since he first started Shrek Academy.
Flender hadn't held it against him. He'd even swallowed his pride and apologized to Yu Xiaogang despite not being in the wrong, trying to mend their relationship.
He'd gone out of his way to take Yu Xiaogang to a brothel, and had even given him a valuable Soul Guidance Storage Bracelet.
He'd done all sorts of good things for him.
He'd been as considerate as anyone could be, doing everything he could and even things he had no obligation to do!
