Background / History

Envoy of the Star Dou Forest

Bi Ji first approaches Su Wen in Douluo City, identifying herself as a native of the Star Dou Forest. She apologizes for Di Tian's earlier actions, stating that they were his personal decision rather than the will of their Master. Su Wen recognizes her as the Emerald Swan, one of the Ten Great Beasts. 95

She later enters Martial Soul Hall to negotiate directly with Bibi Dong. Although the hall's Title Douluo cannot identify her true nature, Bi Ji privately reveals enough to Bibi Dong for the Pope to understand that she is an exceptionally powerful Spirit Beast. 103

Su Wen's Maid and Observer

Bi Ji secures permission to remain beside Su Wen by offering Martial Soul Hall a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone and promising another Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Beast when Su Wen can absorb such a ring. In return, Su Wen must visit the Star Dou Forest after becoming a Spirit King. 104

Her original assignment from the Silver Dragon King is to guard Su Wen, win his trust, and observe whether he bears goodwill toward Spirit Beasts. If he proves hostile, she is instructed to ensure that his martial soul continues through a child raised by Spirit Beasts before killing him. 104

Despite Su Wen's attempt to make the arrangement inconvenient through strict “maid” rules, Bi Ji accepts her role calmly. Bibi Dong and Ye Yuan'er remain suspicious of her throughout her stay. 104 106

Growing Cooperation

Bi Ji assists Su Wen's cultivation and preparations in several ways. She investigates the whereabouts of the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, ultimately bringing it to Martial Soul City for Su Wen's fifth Spirit Ring. 114 126

When Su Wen explains the human concept of a Soul Core, Bi Ji identifies its Spirit Beast equivalent as a Beast Core: a solid energy center formed by compressing liquid soul power. She later shares her experience with Ye Yuan'er so that the latter may attempt to form one herself. 124

After Su Wen's Underworld Marriage manifests several Spirit Beast-derived Ghost Brides, Bi Ji becomes increasingly interested in the potential of his spirit skill and its implications for Spirit Beasts attaining godhood. 129 130

Choosing to Follow Su Wen

Following the events in the Star Dou Forest, Bi Ji chooses to remain with Su Wen rather than return. The Silver Dragon King permits this, regarding Bi Ji's connection to Su Wen as one of the Spirit Beast race's rare opportunities to create god-level powerhouses. 159

Her attachment to Su Wen grows from duty into personal loyalty. She becomes protective when Zi Ji arrives and scrutinizes Su Wen, later acting as mediator to persuade Zi Ji to remain as Su Wen's bodyguard. 182 183

Bi Ji continues accompanying Su Wen during the conflict involving the Far North Spirit Beasts. She helps represent the Star Dou Forest's interests while warning Su Wen about the Ice Empress and Snow Empress. 207 212 215

Appearance

In human form, Bi Ji is portrayed as an exceptionally beautiful woman with an elf-like purity and a gentle, life-attribute presence. Though she often appears harmless, observers feel an instinctive pressure from her. 114

  • Long emerald-green hair and emerald eyes 185
  • Snow-white skin with a faint pink hue 114
  • Usually wears an emerald-green dress 114
  • Carries a soft, graceful, and maternal demeanor 185
  • Her beauty and noble aura cause others to doubt that she is merely Su Wen's maid 215

Personality

Bi Ji is soft-spoken, gentle, and patient. She accepts Su Wen's conditions for living in Martial Soul Hall without open resistance and routinely tends to his courtyard, serves tea, prepares food, and assists with his daily needs. 104 105 185

Her initial gentleness is paired with a pragmatic loyalty to the Silver Dragon King's mission. She begins as Su Wen's observer and potential captor, but prolonged contact changes her priorities. She increasingly treats his safety as her own responsibility, offers to protect him from Bibi Dong if necessary, and promises to remain at his side. 104 166 211

Bi Ji is perceptive but emotionally inexperienced in human relationships. She becomes jealous after repeatedly sensing Bibi Dong's aura on Su Wen, suspects that Bibi Dong is exploiting him, and worries that Su Wen's other relationships will endanger him. 133 148 165 211
