Academy years and Nan Xuan

Bibi Dong receives exceptional treatment at the academy, but her intimidating aura keeps other students at a distance. Nan Xuan sits beside her without fear and asks to cultivate with her. Initially, she suspects that her teacher has sent him to supervise her; she later realizes that he simply enjoys her company 3 4 6.

Their friendship develops into a romantic relationship, which they confirm at age eleven. Although she becomes increasingly ambitious, Nan Xuan promises to support her choices, including her desire to become Pope 7.

Concerned about his safety as a support-type soul master, she joins his fourth-ring hunt as a teaching assistant. She stops Kelse from interrupting Nan Xuan's absorption of a 5,500-year ring and accompanies him to Iron Box Village. There, she meets his grandfather and accepts his marriage proposal 9 10 11.
