Zhao Wuji bursts into Flender’s office seeking to meet the child with Innate Full Soul Power, startling Shen Rui and Ling Na before Flender de-escalates the confrontation. He is introduced as the Immovable Bright King and Shrek Academy’s vice-principal. 10

After discovering that Shen Rui is also a power-type soul master, Zhao Wuji repeatedly spars with him for over a week, forging a close friendship. 10

Spirit-Ring Hunts

Zhao Wuji serves as a primary protector during expeditions into the Star Dou Forest. He uses gravity-based soul skills and his Vajra Bear Martial Soul Avatar to secure Oscar’s thousand-year White Jade Bee spirit ring. 28

When Shen Feng, Oscar, and a Soul Hunting Guild intelligence team encounter the Ox Dragon, Zhao Wuji intervenes immediately, suppressing the beast with gravity, enduring its lightning, and defeating it in close combat. 30 He remains on guard throughout Shen Feng’s dangerous absorption of the quasi-ten-thousand-year soul ring and prepares to intervene if Shen Feng’s life is threatened. 30 31

Soul Hunting Guild Vice Guild Master

Following the Ox Dragon hunt, Shen Rui introduces Zhao Wuji to Dugu Bo as the Soul Hunting Guild’s designated Vice Guild Master. 33 Zhao Wuji later chooses the Ten-Thousand-Year Ginseng King over the Narcissus Jade Muscle Bone, prioritizing a herb that better strengthens his established advantages. 58

The Ginseng King enables him to break through to level 77, increasing both his strength and defense. Shen Feng subsequently recognizes him as an uncle, strengthening their family-like bond. 59

Conflict with Tang San

Zhao Wuji joins Shen Feng and Zhu Zhuqing in tracking Tang San through the Star Dou Forest. After finding Tang San, he confronts him over Flender’s lost arm and violently vents his anger upon him. 68
