After Alex and Barry ended their call, the system's voice suddenly appeared beside Alex's ear, trying to persuade him.
The system had always been obsessed with bootlicking Barry, though Alex had no idea why. He had once guessed that it was after Barry's Speed Force, or perhaps it did not merely want to fawn over a superhero like Barry, but also over the Justice League and other heroes, intending to use them for some sort of scheme.
Perhaps it wanted them dead? Or wanted to use them as shields? Or drain their powers? Or maybe it simply wanted to disgust him?
That was why the system had always tried to make Alex bootlick Barry as well.
That especially disgusted Alex.
Not only did Alex's prideful nature refuse to let him grovel before anyone, but he also knew that he was destined to become a Divine Dragon soaring through the heavens. With Divine Dragon genes, he had even more confidence and pride. He ought to look down upon the world, so the thought of groveling before anyone disgusted him all the more.
The fact that he did not demand others grovel before him was already a kindness.
"Are you scared?" Alex asked calmly.
Even if Barry exposed his identity, Alex did not think it would matter much. At worst, they would send him to prison, and after a trial, perhaps he would end up in the electric chair because his crimes were particularly severe.
He was not some unarmed civilian. His superhuman physical abilities were enough to place him above these ordinary people, allowing him
