The next day.
Kolan led the group toward the Forest of Darkness, heading straight for its core: the Metal Castle.
Telling the others to wait outside and not to wander off, Kolan entered the Metal Castle.
Although they were the closest to the Forest of Darkness, they were the last to arrive.
Upon entering the Metal Castle, Kolan soon met with the High Priest and the War God.
"Kolan has arrived. Since everyone is here, let me explain: the Necropolis of the Gods we are entering this time is the one on the island in the North Sea," Beirut said with a smile. "Just like last time, we will enter in batches. The Saint Realm experts will enter first to explore for ten years. Once they emerge, you will enter to explore starting from the twelfth floor, also for ten years."
"The higher you go, the more treasures there are! What you manage to obtain depends entirely on your own strength," Beirut said lightly.
"Lord Beirut, are there any Soul Gold Beads in the Necropolis of the Gods?" Kolan asked impatiently.
"Yes!" Beirut gave a definitive answer.
"How many?"
Beirut glanced at Kolan. "You'll find out once you go in and explore!"
"There are quite a few deity-level powerhouses in the Necropolis of the Gods, and the higher you go, the stronger they become. Remember to be cautious and don't be too greedy, or you might very well perish," Beirut warned.
Afterward, Beirut told them to go back out and brief the Saint Realm experts on the situation.
This time, it was the High Priest who did the explaining.
Those who had explored the Necropolis of the Gods before understood a thing or two, but nearly half of the Saint Realm experts this time had never set foot in the Necropolis of the Gods before.
Shortly after, Beirut appeared and led everyone as they flew toward the North Sea.
The North Sea was in the middle of winter, and the seawater had frozen into ice.
Many magical beasts were playing on the ice.
The group arrived directly at an island.
Passing through the Gate of Space, they entered the Divine Plane, where another Necropolis of the Gods was located.
Two passages appeared: the human Saint Realm experts entered the left passage, while the Saint Realm magical beasts entered the right.
As for the guardians of the first eleven floors, they were Netherfire Phoenixes from the Netherworld, all at the level of Lowgods.
"Kolan, you actually let your children enter the Necropolis of the Gods to explore. Aren't you afraid they might die in there?" The War God looked at Kolan with a strange expression.
None of the War God's own children had reached the Saint Realm, and they had all long since passed away.
"There's no helping it. The children wanted to go in and explore; what could I do? If they truly die in there, it can only be said that it was their fate," Kolan said calmly.
The High Priest remarked, "Their strength is average; entering is truly too dangerous."
Kolan, however, was not particularly worried.
Leo and Hannah, besides having divine artifacts for armor, were equipped with soul-defensive divine artifacts crafted by Kolan himself.
Although the soul-defensive divine artifacts he crafted could only be considered average, they could not be breached by anything less than a Midgod's soul attack.
Coupled with their divine armor, it would not be easy to kill them.
Afterward, Kolan found a spot and began to cultivate.
Since these Saint Realm experts would be exploring for ten years, he couldn't just stand around waiting for a decade.
Time flew by, and ten years passed in the blink of an eye.
On this day, the Necropolis of the Gods shook, a passage appeared, and the Saint Realm experts emerged from within.
When they entered, there were 108 human Saint Realm experts and 28 Saint Realm magical beasts.
However, only 64 human Saint Realm experts made it out alive—a loss of 44—and only 14 Saint Realm magical beasts remained, with half having perished inside.
"Father~~" Seeing Kolan, Hannah burst into tears and threw herself into his arms.
"What's wrong, Hannah?" Kolan stroked her hair. He had already noticed that of the remaining three family members, only one had survived; the other two were clearly dead.
One of them was Hannah's husband.
"Father, it was that hateful Netherfire Phoenix! It was on the sixth floor. Someone woke it up, and Hansen was eaten by it!" Leo said, gritting his teeth. "Father, you must avenge my brother-in-law!"
"Heh heh~~ If you dare to enter the Necropolis of the Gods, you must be prepared to die!" A voice drifted over, coming from a woman dressed in black.
Beirut smiled faintly. "Everyone, let me introduce you. This is the commander who guards the first eleven floors, the 'Nether Phoenix'."
"Nether Phoenix, you have completed your mission. You may now have one opportunity to explore the Necropolis of the Gods; you will accompany them when they enter," Beirut said.
"Yes, Lord Beirut!" the Nether Phoenix replied obediently.
Kolan looked at the Nether Phoenix as if looking at a dead person.
Very well. When we enter the Necropolis of the Gods, I will let you see what I am capable of.
After sending the Saint Realm experts back to the Yulan Continent, Kolan and the others returned to the Necropolis of the Gods.
As deity-level powerhouses, their exploration began from the twelfth floor. There were no separate passages; there was only one.
Entering the twelfth floor, they found themselves in a world of magma.
"Everyone stay together. If the four of us work in tandem this time, we should be able to gain something," the High Priest said.
"Indeed, once we reach the Necropolis of the Gods, we must join forces. The powerhouses from other planes there are incredibly strong; if we don't work together, none of us will be able to defeat them!" the War God said, expressing his full agreement.
Last time, on the twelfth floor of the Necropolis of the Gods, he and the High Priest had joined forces, only to be crushed by a single god-level powerhouse. They had barely escaped with their lives, forced to flee in every direction.
"Hmph, I, the Nether Phoenix, have no need to join forces with the likes of you!" the Nether Phoenix sneered, turning to leave as she spoke.
But at that very moment, the Nether Phoenix felt as if she had fallen into a quagmire, and without hesitation, she manifested her own Lowgod Domain.
Yet, the Nether Phoenix still felt an immense sense of suppression.
"You kill my son-in-law and think you can just leave!?" Kolan stared coldly at the Nether Phoenix.
The Nether Phoenix's expression changed drastically: "You... you are a Midgod!?"
Such suppression from a Divine Domain clearly indicated that Kolan was a level above her.
"Spare me, my lord! Spare me!" the Nether Phoenix hurriedly begged for mercy.
Only the most formidable Lowgods could barely compare to the weakest Midgods.
And she was certainly not the most formidable of Lowgods.
Kolan unleashed two Midgod Domains, overlapping them to directly suppress the Nether Phoenix, making it impossible for her to move.
Kolan watched the Nether Phoenix indifferently as a ball of gray flame appeared in his hand. With a flick of his finger, the gray flame sank into the Nether Phoenix's body.
Following that, Kolan withdrew his Divine Domain.
The Nether Phoenix scrambled to flee for her life, but no sooner had she taken flight than she plummeted toward the ground. She clutched her head in agony, letting out a shrill, piercing scream.
The Nether Phoenix's entire body convulsed as she clutched her head, emitting screams of extreme agony.
"Stop!" Kolan said calmly.
The Nether Phoenix's screams ceased abruptly. Regaining her senses, she looked at Kolan in terror: "You... you are a Midgod of the Death Law?"
Her face turned deathly pale in an instant.
As a Lowgod who also cultivated the Death Law, she naturally knew what that meant.
"Just kill me!"
"Kill you? Do you think I would let you die so easily?" Kolan scoffed: "I will make you wish for death, yet be unable to find it!"
"Wish for death, yet be unable to find it?" The Nether Phoenix's entire body trembled. Gritting her teeth, she slammed a palm toward her own head, attempting to commit suicide!
But before her palm could reach her forehead, the Nether Phoenix suddenly screamed again: "Ah~~"
She clutched her head, her body convulsing, her expression twisted in agony.
A moment later, she stopped screaming. Pale-faced, she looked at Kolan in terror, like a frail, sickly patient.
