Heading to the Yulan Continent

Chiyang City.

A crowd had gathered in front of a small square, with many young children lined up at the front.

A magic aptitude test was underway.

It was being held by West Magic Academy of the Rhine Empire. On the Yulan Continent, the most famous magic academy was naturally Ernst Institute in the Fenlai Kingdom.

There were, however, many other magic academies besides that one.

William Academy, for example, and West Magic Academy, which was also a very good school.

Unlike the Holy Union, the Rhine Empire had its magic academies travel to various cities to conduct tests. Chiyang City was one of them.

"So this is how they test whether someone can become a mage."

Meng Shan and the others were watching from a distance.

"Meng, do you think any of us have the aptitude to become mages?"

The thin, sharp-faced man suddenly asked.

The others were all intrigued.

On Blue Star, magic was a fringe discipline. There was no way to determine who could cultivate magic, nor was there a unified system, so it was naturally difficult to develop.

But here, mages had a higher status than warriors.

Saint-level mages in particular could use all kinds of forbidden magic, easily turning the world upside down and stirring up the seas.

If they had the aptitude to cultivate magic, then naturally that would be the best path.

Meng Shan was also tempted. Even though he was already a seventh-level warrior, the thought of cultivating magic to the seventh level as well still filled him with longing.

"The ones taking the magic aptitude test are all children. Aren't we past the age limit?"

The short-haired woman suddenly spoke up.

Although Beirut had grown increasingly curious about Blue Star Plane and the Magic Teleportation Array, he wasn't worried in the least.

If anything, he looked forward to more and more people coming to the Yulan Plane. The Yulan Continent had already grown rather boring to him.

It was a little like someone who had spent all their time watching ants play, then suddenly had a caterpillar to watch.

So Beirut not only didn't restrict life-forms from Blue Star from coming to the Yulan Continent, but even gave them plenty of "help." For instance, he had built an island in the area around the Magic Array so that any newcomers would have somewhere to land.

back on Blue Star,

after Fang Yun left a Velociraptor behind to guard the Magic Teleportation Array, he stopped intervening directly.

After a period of disputes between humans and magical beasts, they finally decided that Fulong Mountain would remain under the control of the Yanhua Empire, but that no other life-forms could be barred from entering.

In return, the other empires and the magical beasts would each give the Yanhua Empire a certain amount of territory as compensation.

So the only ones actually stopping people from entering were the two seventh-level Velociraptors.

Since these two Velociraptors knew the rules for entering the valley, they must have had a master. No one wanted to provoke them, given the possible "being" behind them.

At least, no one wanted to do so yet. No life-form that had reached the Saint-level was a fool. The valley's master hadn't shown himself, but that didn't mean he didn't exist. Otherwise, none of this made sense.

So everyone accepted the two Velociraptors' presence.

Besides, Zhou Yuan had seen the Crimson Feather Golden Phoenix enter the Magic Array and disappear. No one knew what exactly had happened. Even if they were invited to go in themselves, no one would be willing under those circumstances.

That was another reason all the powerful figures had reached their earlier consensus.

As things at Fulong Mountain stabilized, Fulong Town began to grow into a major city.

It was the only city on the Yanhua Empire—or, for that matter, all of Blue Star—where magical beasts and humans lived together. What's more, the magical beasts were all high-level.

Even Fang Yun hadn't expected this change.

Still, it was a good thing. It would make things more interesting.

The only problem was that they needed to find a new way to activate the Magic Array.

This Magic Teleportation passageway differed from ordinary teleportation arrays. It was controlled through Coiling Dragon in his mind, which meant that for now, only he could activate it.

Fang Yun could sense it whether he was at the Teleportation Array on Fulong Mountain or the one by the South Sea on the Yulan Continent.

All it took was a thought to activate the Teleportation Array.

But he couldn't spend every day paying attention to such trivial matters.

Perhaps he could try something like the Plane Guardians in the original story and hand the right to activate it over to these two Velociraptors. He could make them the "Plane Guardians" of Blue Star.

But these two were too weak. He'd have to find a way to make them gods.

Before long, Fang Yun used Coiling Dragon in his mind to create several special contracts. Refining one of them would grant the ability to activate the Magic Teleportation Array.

The contracts came in two kinds: one for Blue Star and one for the Yulan Continent.

Activating the array from the Blue Star side consumed no energy. But activating it from the Yulan Continent required a certain amount of energy.

The method and conditions for activating it were almost identical to those of the passageways between the Material Plane and Divine Planes in the Coiling Dragon World.

In other words, it wouldn't be difficult for life-forms from Blue Star to travel to the Yulan Continent, but returning from the Yulan Continent wouldn't be easy.

Fang Yun thought it over, then took out the two contracts meant for the Yulan Continent and went straight to the Magic Teleportation Array.

He tossed the contracts onto the array and activated it with a thought. The contracts vanished.

Fang Yun looked at the two Velociraptors. They were as docile as kittens.

After sealing off the area with his divine sense, the two contracts appeared in front of the Velociraptors.

Fang Yun said directly, "From today on, you'll be the Teleportation Array Guardians. Refine these contracts, and you'll gain the ability to activate the Teleportation Array."

Fang Yun taught the two Velociraptors how to activate the array.

"Grr..."

The two Velociraptors let out soft cries.

Then each of them swallowed the contract in front of them.

Before they could even sense what was happening to them, an immense energy surged out of the contracts.

The spikes on their bodies began to change, growing before their very eyes. Their bodies changed as well.

The Velociraptors, which had been two or three stories tall, grew to four or five stories in just a few breaths. Their bodies doubled in size.

Their auras changed dramatically, too.

The Velociraptors, who had been seventh-level, leaped straight to the Saint-level.

Even Fang Yun hadn't expected this.

In the Coiling Dragon World, gaining strength was difficult. Apart from the Netherworld Fruit on Netherworld Mountain, he had never heard of anything that could directly increase someone's strength, let alone take them from the seventh level straight to the Saint-level.

Yet the contract created by Coiling Dragon in his mind could increase their strength?

Incredible.

But when he remembered that Coiling Dragon could even Manifestation cultivation aptitude and Sovereign Sparks, it wasn't so hard to believe that it could create contracts capable of increasing strength.

Reaching the Saint-level was a good thing. At least now they had the strength to guard the Teleportation Array.

Otherwise, if they'd remained only seventh-level, he would've had to check on them from time to time. That would've been too much trouble.

"Thank you, sir!"

Feeling their strength change, the two Velociraptors were overcome with joy. They prostrated themselves on the ground and spoke.

The Velociraptors were brother and sister. Now that they could speak, it was clear that one was male and the other female.

Fang Yun nodded casually. "From now on, your duty is to guard the Teleportation Array."

"Yes, sir."

The two Velociraptors held Fang Yun in even greater awe.

He could casually raise their strength to the Saint-level. What kind of power did that take?

The Saint-level beings on Blue Star weren't even ants in front of him.

Then Fang Yun vanished on the spot.

The two Velociraptors still couldn't calm down. They were Saint-level! Their kind had never had a single Saint-level Velociraptor.

"From now on, we must guard the Teleportation Array for sir!"

The younger sister's eyes were filled with determination.

Her brother agreed, then added, "But we'd better not reveal our strength. If anyone tries to break sir's rules, we can reveal it then and teach them a lesson."

His sister nodded. "All right."

Then the two Velociraptors shrank back to their former size.

Saint-level life-forms could freely change their size.

Outside the valley, the humans and magical beasts keeping watch hadn't noticed a thing.

Yulan Continent.

South Sea, Teleportation Array.

Beirut noticed the instant it lit up.

But this time, all that appeared was a scroll, which only made him more curious.

When he got his hands on it, Beirut couldn't help exclaiming, "A Teleportation Array Control Scroll?"

Wasn't this Teleportation Array just like the one used to travel from a Material Plane to a Divine Plane?

The planes created by Highgods could generally use a Sovereign Spark together with a Magic Array to create simple passageways, such as the passage to the Necropolis of the Gods.

But teleportation arrays between Material Planes and Divine Planes had been created by the Overgods. Their use was restricted, and one could only travel through them by refining a Contract Scroll. (I'm borrowing the teleportation array rules from chapter seven of my previous book, so I won't explain them in detail.)

He had previously guessed that "Blue Star" might be a place like the Necropolis of the Gods, though he didn't know why it was connected to the Yulan Continent.

But if the Magic Teleportation Array was the same as the one used to travel from Material Planes to Divine Planes, that meant it had been created by an Overgod. Only an Overgod had that kind of power.

But if the Teleportation Array had been created by an Overgod, then Blue Star couldn't be a place like the Necropolis of the Gods.

His earlier guess might have been wrong.

There was another thing that didn't make sense. The teleportation arrays created by the Overgods required scrolls to activate, but the scrolls were merely used to draw out certain energies that only a Highgod could call upon.

In other words, a Highgod could activate the Teleportation Array at will.

But he couldn't activate this one. That meant this Teleportation Array was very different from the others.

Could it be that he, too, would have to refine a scroll to activate it?

Beirut didn't dwell on it. He immediately pulled a Mid-level God Gatekeeper out of the Necropolis of the Gods.

"Lord Beirut!"

The Gatekeeper was a Lion-Headed Man with fiery red curls. At the sight of Beirut, his heart filled with awe.

Beirut's power was deeply etched in their minds.

"Refine this scroll."

Beirut didn't waste words. He took out a Contract Scroll and handed it over.

"Yes."

The Lion-Headed Man had no thought of resisting.

Beirut could kill him far too easily to need any other method.

After the Lion-Headed Man refined the Contract Scroll, his expression turned somewhat surprised.

"How is it?"

Seeing his expression, Beirut was already convinced the scroll worked.

The Lion-Headed Man looked delighted and hurriedly replied, "My lord, this is a Teleportation Array Contract Scroll. It lets me control the array's activation."

Although the Contract Scroll had given him that information, he still couldn't quite believe it.

After all, only the Highgod's army and the Plane Guardians had this kind of ability. Was Lord Beirut planning to let him leave the Necropolis of the Gods and guard a teleportation array between planes?

Beirut nodded, then said, "From today on, you'll be the guardian of this Teleportation Array."

With that, Beirut left.

He planned to try refining the other scroll himself. He wasn't worried about the appearance of the Teleportation Array, but it would be best if he could keep it under his control.

After refining the scroll, Beirut discovered that even sending life-forms from the Yulan Continent to "Blue Star" wasn't something he could do at will. The Teleportation Array required Inkstone to activate—in other words, the power of Sovereign's Might.

Although the amount consumed was only one ten-millionth of what a Divine Plane's teleportation array used, it was still more than the life-forms of the Yulan Continent could afford.

In other words, if he really wanted to send life-forms from the Yulan Continent to Blue Star, he would have to activate the Teleportation Array himself. The Lion-Headed Man was only a figurehead for now.

Unless he stored some Sovereign's Might in the array beforehand.

But that wasn't important. Storing energy in it wasn't a big deal, and the cost was nothing to him.

As long as the Teleportation Array could be activated and people could travel to this so-called "Blue Star," it was worth it.

Beirut's eyes brightened slightly.

Perhaps he could send a god over to take a look. That might help him learn something about the place.

The Crimson Feather Golden Phoenix had said that the strongest beings on Blue Star were only Saint-level, but Beirut wasn't convinced. It wasn't that he didn't trust her; he simply didn't think she was important enough to have come into contact with any gods.

After all, the appearance of this Teleportation Array was far too mysterious. How could Blue Star have no powerful beings?

Blue Star.

Fulong Valley.

This little valley had become one of the most famous places in the mouths of Blue Star's powerful figures, so they naturally kept the name Fulong Mountain.

Besides, it had two Velociraptors, which seemed to fit the name "Fulong" as well.

Just as the human and magical-beast experts were still deciding whom to send to the Magic Array, it suddenly lit up.

The two Velociraptors immediately turned a wary eye toward it.

As the Magic Array's guardians, they now understood its workings very well.

Someone was arriving!

Sure enough, as the light appeared, a figure emerged.

When the light faded, it revealed a handsome young man with long hair and an alluring face.

"So this is Blue Star?"

The moment the strange-looking young man appeared, he noticed the two Velociraptors. "Two Saint-level Velociraptors, of all things. Interesting!"

Even on the Yulan Continent, there were no Velociraptors above the seventh rank.

"Who are you?"

The older Velociraptor asked in a deep voice.

He could feel immense pressure coming from the young man. The other had also identified their level with just a glance, so his strength was clearly above the Saint level.

He hadn't expected that there would be beings above the Saint level on the other side of the Teleportation Array!

"Me? Heh heh."

The strange-looking young man chuckled, but didn't answer directly. His Divine Domain appeared in an instant.

Under the force of the Divine Domain, the two Velociraptors immediately found themselves unable to stand. Their faces filled with terror.

Against a god-level powerhouse, even the mightiest Saint-level expert was helpless.

But in the next instant, the strange-looking young man dropped to his knees. The immense pressure made it impossible for him to maintain his Divine Domain.

His expression changed at once. He couldn't even open his mouth to speak.

The two Velociraptors, however, were completely unaffected.

"It's Lord Fang!"

The younger Velociraptor hurriedly spoke.

Then the two Velociraptors lowered themselves to the ground of their own accord.

Fang Yun appeared in midair, his entire figure shrouded in radiance, his face impossible to make out.

He didn't care what the strange-looking young man had come to Blue Star to do. But this was the first god-level being to arrive, and it made him wonder if this was Beirut's position on the matter.

So, after the god-level being appeared, Fang Yun had appeared as well.

"Is this how Beirut told you to come here?"

Fang Yun's voice held no emotion, yet it seemed to drift from somewhere uncertain, as though it were speaking directly into the young man's mind.

At Fang Yun's words, sweat poured from the strange-looking young man's forehead. He wasn't stupid. The sudden pressure made it clear that the owner of the voice was an incredibly terrifying being!

And since this terrifying being knew Lord Beirut's name, he clearly didn't fear Lord Beirut.

He had never expected to encounter such a terrifying being as soon as he arrived.

Just as the strange-looking young man was about to reach his limit, the pressure suddenly vanished.

But he didn't dare get up. He remained kneeling, not daring to complain; instead, he was filled with fear as he said, "Please forgive me, my lord."

Fang Yun had no intention of killing him. After all, he was the first being to come from the Yulan Continent to Blue Star. Fang Yun could learn about the Yulan Continent from him.

Besides, the fact that this man had made it here meant Beirut had become a Highgod. Otherwise, no one on the Yulan Continent would have been able to activate the Teleportation Array.

Before long, Fang Yun had learned what he wanted from the strange-looking young man, including not only the situation on the Yulan Continent,

but also Beirut's attitude toward Blue Star. That interested him greatly.

That alone was enough to show that Beirut wouldn't slaughter the Blue Star beings who arrived on the Yulan Continent without cause.

Perhaps it was time for Fang Yun to visit the Yulan Continent himself.

Still, it would be best to travel there with a large group.

Once he had increased his World Power and gained the qualification to Manifest, he could Manifest a talent and become a god.

His true self would then return to Blue Star. After all, the safest place for him was still Blue Star.

Perhaps this strange-looking young man could help the beings of Blue Star.

Before long, a super-powerful expert far above the Saint level appeared on Blue Star. By himself, he easily brought half the ocean under his control.

The ocean was, after all, the most dangerous place in the world after the advent of the supernatural. Even the combined forces of the three great empires couldn't occupy it.

Yet this young man had done it all by himself.

For a time, even the strange phenomena at Fulong Mountain were overshadowed by this news.

But before long, the origin of the strange-looking young man was revealed.

He was a powerhouse from Fulong Valley!

He had appeared through the Magic Array inside Fulong Valley, coming from a place called the Yulan Continent!

The news sent shockwaves through the world.

Of course, this was all arranged by Fang Yun. He needed the strange-looking young man to spread the news about the Yulan Continent. Otherwise, given how cautious the beings on Blue Star were, who knew how long it would take them to go there?

As long as the beings of Blue Star began traveling to the Yulan Continent in large numbers, Fang Yun wouldn't interfere with the young man again, so long as he didn't go around slaughtering people.

Sure enough, once the strange-looking young man "accidentally" let slip the existence of the Yulan Continent and "god-level" beings, no one could sit still.

Only then did everyone realize that the Crimson Feather Golden Phoenix hadn't disappeared. She had entered a new "world" and gone to the Yulan Continent!

This Magic Array was like a "gate between worlds."

It was a gate to the Yulan Continent!

So, the human powerhouses and the powerful magical beasts began making their way to the Yulan Plane in large numbers, all without needing to coordinate.

Fang Yun secretly followed the latest group.
