The Pillar of Light

Ordinary people had stopped caring about the earlier white-light phenomenon. Quite a few even guessed that the light might have been some kind of unusual celestial event. After all, ever since Blue Star became extraordinary, the occasional strange celestial event was nothing unusual.

It had only been more conspicuous this time.

In an instant, countless people were jolted awake. The area beneath this white pillar of light might well be the place that had caused the earlier white-light phenomenon!

In an ancient church in the Bai'ou Empire, an old man dressed in unusual robes murmured a prayer, reciting strange verses no one could understand.

Suddenly, a dazzling light appeared in the somewhat dim sky outside.

As if sensing something, the old man looked up through the window. From where he stood, the pillar of light seemed like a sharp sword streaking across the horizon and thrusting toward the east.
