Ch. 122Offering Their Services

Hodan persuaded Huoxie and Silvermoon to join the Eight Great Clans as offerings, then helped the clans establish an alliance headquartered on the former territory of the Four Divine Beasts Clan. The alliance announced its formation across the planes, presenting itself as a powerful faction safeguarded by three Paragons.

  • Hodan urged Huoxie and Silvermoon to join the Eight Great Clans, and both agreed to become offerings.
  • The clan leaders and elders finalized an alliance and swore a Supreme Oath to support one another through every crisis.
  • The Eight Great Clans established their new headquarters on the former territory of the Four Divine Beasts Clan while retaining holdings in other planes.
  • The alliance required future Seven-Star Fiend elders to swear Supreme Oaths and offered its powerful members improved benefits.
  • The Eight Great Clans publicly announced their alliance, its enforcement squad, its offerings, and Hodan as guardian of their fortunes.
  • News of the alliance spread across countless planes, where people recognized that only the Sovereigns could safely provoke the faction.

Ch. 123Tallying the Spoils

After defeating the Four Divine Beasts Clan, Hodan settled into his new role as the Eight Great Clans’ spiritual leader and examined the spoils from the battle. He activated Gaiseresen’s Coiling Dragon Ring, resisted the Azure Dragon Sovereign’s hidden soul attack, and discovered blood essence inside.

  • Hodan flew to his new mansion in the Tianji Mountain Range, where the Eight Great Clans treated him as their spiritual leader.
  • Hodan selected talented Six- and Five-Star Fiends of the Thunder and Fate Elements to serve as attendants, while Huoxie and the others settled in a neighboring mansion.
  • Hodan took a blue Coiling Dragon Ring from Gaiseresen’s headless corpse and bound it to himself.
  • The Azure Dragon Sovereign’s stored soul attack struck when Hodan touched the ring, but Hodan resisted it and claimed the intact Soul Defense Sovereign Artifact.
  • Hodan found a drop of golden blood and three blue droplets inside the ring, and suspected the golden drop was the Azure Dragon Sovereign’s blood essence.

Ch. 124Taking Stock of the Spoils, Part Two

Hodan sorted the Four Divine Beasts Clan’s spoils, keeping a Soul Defense Sovereign Artifact and thousands of drops of Sovereign’s Might while refining the clan’s blood into potent Divine Beast bloodlines. He ended with four bloodline portions for potential mass implantation and eighteen drops of Sovereign-level Essence Blood.

  • Hodan collected five Sovereign Artifacts and four drops of Divine Beast Essence Blood from the clan leaders and Great Elder, then tested the artifacts and kept only the Soul Defense Sovereign Artifact.
  • Hodan stored the remaining artifacts and gathered more than five thousand drops of Sovereign’s Might, countless Inkstones, and other spoils from the Four Divine Beasts Clan.
  • Hodan refined a hundred-meter sphere of ordinary clan members’ blood and divided it into four potent portions representing the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise bloodlines.
  • Hodan purified Essence Blood from Five-Star Fiends and stronger clan members, producing roughly three thousand drops.
  • Hodan spent a month refining the clan leaders’ and Great Elder’s Essence Blood, obtaining seventeen drops equal in strength to Azure Dragon Essence Blood and bringing his total to ten Azure Dragon drops and four each of the other three.

Ch. 125The Destruction Rules Reach Paragon

After securing the Four Divine Beasts’ blood essence, Hodan cultivated in seclusion and advanced his Destruction Rules to Paragon. He then gave Renars the blood essence and ordered him to secretly strengthen the Renars Clan.

  • Hodan stored the blood essence in his Space Ring and planned to use most of it to cultivate powerhouses for the Renars Clan.
  • Hodan reflected on the battle and used his insights into destruction to reach Paragon in the Destruction Rules.
  • Hodan learned that half a year had passed and decided not to pursue another breakthrough where it might draw attention.
  • Hodan summoned Renars and told him he had broken through after digesting his battle insights.
  • Hodan gave Renars blood essence from the Four Divine Beasts and instructed him to secretly train talented clan members without using their innate divine abilities unless necessary.

Ch. 126Cultivating the Strong

Hodan distributed spoils from the Four Divine Beasts to Renars, giving him a Material Defense Sovereign Artifact and promising to obtain a Soul Defense Sovereign Artifact later. He then gathered experts from the Eight Great Clans to train them in the Thunder Mysteries and Fate Rule, requiring the Thunder cultivators to swear a Supreme Oath to protect his secrets.

  • Hodan gave Renars a Space Ring filled with spoils, including more than a thousand drops of Sovereign's Might, and told him to distribute some of the loot among the families.
  • Hodan gave Renars the Material Defense Sovereign Artifact taken from the White Tiger Clan Leader and advised him to hide it as ordinary clothing.
  • Hodan told Renars to carry out the cultivation plan in secret and bring the Eight Great Clans' experts to him for instruction.
  • Renars brought 801 people, including Elder Muli, to Hodan, who divided them between his Thunder Element and Fate Rule Divine Clones.
  • Hodan required the Thunder cultivators to swear a Supreme Oath never to disclose what they learned or risk their souls being controlled.

Ch. 127Cultivating Strong Fighters, Part Two

Hodan taught the family’s chosen experts Thunder Element and Fate Rule cultivation using his Thunder Tree and personal insights. He left his divine body in the secret chamber to guide them while guarding the Thunder Tree’s secret, and their strength began to grow.

  • The experts and Elder Muli swore the Supreme Oath, and Hodan protected the secret chamber with layers of formations.
  • Hodan summoned the Thunder Tree and used its fused Mysteries to teach the experts how to cultivate and combine Thunder Element Mysteries.
  • Hodan gave Elder Muli two Sovereign Artifacts and Sovereign's Might, urging him to cultivate and grow strong enough to protect himself.
  • Hodan taught the experts his understanding of the Fate Rule while keeping his method of observing people whose Fate was Undetermined secret.
  • The experts eagerly studied Hodan’s teachings, but most chose to reach Highgod before attempting to fuse Mysteries so they could protect themselves.

Ch. 128The Netherworld

Hodan traveled from Hell to the Netherworld seeking a Nether Fruit to improve his Life Law. While studying the Netherworld’s undead, he uncovered why they could not become Paragons and reached the opportunity to advance his Death Rule.

  • Hodan left his family behind in the Tianji Mountain Range and traveled toward the Netherworld, focusing on comprehending the Death Rule while his Fate God Clone upgraded its divine body.
  • Hodan paid the teleportation fee at Tiedao Cliff and arrived at Undead Sacred Mountain in the Netherworld.
  • Hodan flew across the Undead Realm and observed souls transforming into undead through the influence of death energy.
  • Hodan discovered that undead had to become deities to leave the Undead Realm, and that their tangled souls prevented them from becoming Paragons.
  • Hodan understood part of the Death Rule’s secrets and grasped the opportunity to advance his Death Rule again.

Ch. 129Death Rule Highgod

Hodan’s Death Rule reached the Highgod level, and he left his Death and Life God Clones in the Undead Realm before continuing toward Youming Mountain. After a ten-year journey, he arrived at the mountain and examined its three-colored mists and countless lightning chains, planning to greet the Sovereign of Death before seeking the Nether Fruit.

  • Hodan’s Death Rule reached the Highgod level, making his Death God Clone strong enough to rival a Seven-Star Fiend.
  • Hodan opened a cave near where undead formed frequently and left his Death and Life God Clones there to study death and new life.
  • Hodan traveled toward Youming Mountain with his true body and Destruction God Clone in a Metal Lifeform while his Death God Clone began experimenting with deathly energy.
  • After ten years, Hodan spotted Youming Mountain and reached it in less than ten minutes.
  • Hodan observed the mountain’s white, gray, and violet mists and its countless lightning chains, then decided to visit the Sovereign of Death before climbing for the Nether Fruit.

Ch. 130Meeting the Sovereign of Death's Avatar

Hodan visited the Sovereign of Death’s water divine clone at the Nether Hotel and confirmed he wanted Nether Fruit so he could become her Chief Sovereign’s Messenger. He then flew toward Youming Mountain, intending to test its lightning barrier as onlookers doubted he would survive.

  • Hodan greeted the red-haired girl fishing beside the Nether Hotel and told her he had come to Youming Mountain seeking Nether Fruit.
  • The red-haired girl realized Hodan intended to become the Sovereign of Death’s Chief Sovereign’s Messenger and decided not to alert her other self yet.
  • Hodan left the hotel and flew toward Youming Mountain instead of waiting for the full moon.
  • At the mountain’s northern gate, Hodan ignored warnings about the deadly lightning barrier and approached it while onlookers watched.

Ch. 131Obtaining the Nether Fruit

Hodan entered Youming Mountain and reached the purple mist region, where he found and obtained a Nether Fruit. The Nether Fruit Trees disappeared before he could take another, and he continued onward, coming upon the enormous true body of the Nether Fruit Tree.

  • Hodan passed through Youming Mountain’s lightning chains unharmed because his Destruction Giant bloodline absorbed the lightning, and he entered the mountain while concealing his Destruction strength.
  • Hodan crossed the gray mist region without getting trapped in its illusions and reached the purple mist region.
  • Hodan found a Nether Fruit Tree, picked one Nether Fruit, and stored it in his Space Ring.
  • The scattered Nether Fruit Trees sank underground before Hodan could pick a second fruit, so he continued onward in search of another.
  • Hodan encountered the colossal true body of the Nether Fruit Tree, whose branches had appeared as the smaller trees.

Ch. 132Encounter Linley

Hodan watched Linley and Bebe battle the Sheling siblings near the Nether Fruit Tree, then intervened when the tree attacked them. He caught a root that would have seriously injured Bebe.

  • Hodan noticed dozens of Nether Fruits above the tree and discovered that nine Sheling siblings were pursuing Linley.
  • Linley trapped many of the green snakes inside his Blackstone Prison, and Hodan considered adapting the technique into a Thunder Prison.
  • The Golden Serpent and Silver Nine-Headed Serpent joined the battle, and their attacks threatened Linley and Bebe.
  • Linley and Bebe used Dragon Roar and God Devour, but the Nether Fruit Tree's roots intercepted both innate divine abilities.
  • The Nether Fruit Tree lashed a root at Bebe, and Hodan caught it before it could hit him.

Ch. 133Traveling Together

Linley and Bebe survived the Golden Serpent and Inawei’s attempt to avenge Tina when Hodan intervened and the Life Sovereign spared them. Linley continued toward the Sovereign of Death to seek help, reaching her palace with Hodan and meeting Asers and Bolelei before Inawei and her family arrived to threaten them again.

  • Hodan stopped the Golden Serpent and Inawei from killing Linley and Bebe, and the Life Sovereign ruled that Tina’s death did not warrant their deaths.
  • Linley asked the Life Sovereign for help, learned he could not grant the request, and received directions to the Sovereign of Death.
  • Bebe warned Linley about the Death Sovereign, but Hodan offered to escort them to her palace, and the Life Sovereign opened a path through the Purple Mist.
  • Hodan, Linley, and Bebe crossed the mist and reached the palace, where they encountered Asers and Bolelei.
  • Inawei, the Golden Serpent, and the Nine Green Serpents appeared, and Inawei threatened that Linley and Bebe would still die.

Ch. 134Seeing the Sovereign

Hodan defended Linley and his companions from Inawei, then entered the Sovereign of Death’s palace and agreed to become her emissary. After learning the Sovereign’s name was Gloria, he asked her for several Nether Fruits, leaving her puzzled because he had already picked one.

  • Hodan rebuked Inawei for wanting the Sovereign of Death to kill her opponents and declared that he would protect Linley and the others.
  • Hodan called for an audience with the Sovereign of Death, and Asers led Linley, Bebe, and the others into the palace.
  • Inawei complained about Linley and his companions, but Gloria neither rewarded nor punished anyone and then summoned Hodan inside.
  • Hodan told Gloria that he was ready to become her Chief Sovereign’s emissary, and she joyfully accepted him as her first Paragon emissary.
  • Hodan asked Gloria for a few Nether Fruits, and she questioned why he needed more after already picking one.

Ch. 135Purpose Achieved

Hodan became the Sovereign of Death’s emissary and received Nether Fruits and a Soul Defense Sovereign Artifact. He then asked the Sovereign to give Linley a chance to save his family, and she offered him a path through the Plane War while warning him how formidable its Commanders were.

  • Hodan asked for Nether Fruits for himself and his family, and the Sovereign of Death granted him three in total, limiting him to using two himself.
  • Hodan chose a Soul Defense Sovereign Artifact, became the Sovereign of Death’s fifth emissary, and received a bracelet that also served as a Space Ring.
  • The Sovereign of Death gave Hodan Sovereign’s Might, a parchment that could summon her, and a token bearing her mark.
  • Hodan asked the Sovereign of Death to change Linley’s situation, and she explained that Linley could restore the memories of loved ones by killing enemy Commanders in the Plane War.
  • Linley eagerly agreed to fight, but the Sovereign of Death warned him that the Commanders ranged from his own level to Paragon High-Gods.

Ch. 136The Bottom Line of the Plan

Linley learned that he could save his family only by earning rewards through killing powerful enemies, but Hodan arranged for him to enter the Plane Battlefield and pursue another path to power. After leaving Youming Mountain, Linley received advice to challenge the Redrock Overlord before venturing into the battlefield.

  • The Sovereign of Death offered to save one of Linley's people for each Commander he killed, and Hodan proposed that Linley enter the Plane Battlefield instead.
  • The Sovereign of Death accepted Hodan's proposal, gave him a Nether Fruit and a guide to entering the Plane Battlefield, then left Youming Mountain.
  • Hodan told Linley that he was helping him to build a connection and asked him not to target the Eight Great Clans if he became powerful.
  • Hodan advised Linley to challenge the Redrock Overlord to become a Lord, warning that the Plane Battlefield was too dangerous without Commander-level strength.
  • Hodan departed for the Undead Realm while Linley and Bebe remained with the guidebook and his advice.

Ch. 137Taking the Nether Fruit

Hodan followed Linley in hopes of finding the Crown of Wutie, then consumed Nether Fruits and used their insights to advance his Life Law. After becoming a Mid-God, he gained another portion of Willpower and discovered that his strength had increased far beyond what he expected.

  • Hodan returned to the Undead Realm and increased the deathly energy around his residence, briefly raising the strength of newly born undead.
  • Hodan's Death Clone and Life God Clone ate Nether Fruits, which made the Mysteries of the laws easier for them to perceive and greatly improved his Life Law talent.
  • Hodan left for Flamebone Territory aboard a Metal Lifeform, cultivating the Life Law as he traveled toward Linley.
  • After fifty years of cultivation, Hodan's Life God Clone became a Mid-God, granting his clones and true body another portion of Willpower.
  • Hodan found that his strength and divine sense had grown far more than tenfold and believed another portion of Willpower could bring his Paragon clone close to a lower Chief Sovereign.

Ch. 138Nine Serenities Overlord

Hodan traveled to Moxing Territory to take Kro’s Commander position so he could enter the Plane Battlefield. After defeating Kro with a single finger and claiming the territory’s token, Hodan headed toward Flamebone Mountain, while Kro realized he had faced the newly emerged Paragon Hodan.

  • Hodan remembered that he needed a Prefect or Commander’s status to enter the Plane Battlefield and chose to challenge Kro, the Lord of Moxing Territory.
  • Hodan arrived at Kro’s estate and demanded that Kro give up his lordship.
  • Kro attacked Hodan with a spear, but Hodan shattered its tip with one finger and sent Kro crashing into the estate.
  • Kro emerged wounded and surrendered the Moxing Territory token, which Hodan claimed by dripping his blood onto it.
  • Hodan left for Flamebone Mountain, and Kro recognized him as the dual-element Paragon whose reputation had spread across the planes.

Ch. 139Plane Battlefield

Hodan entered the Plane Battlefield as a Commander and searched for Linley, using his exceptional Willpower to monitor the entire battlefield. After an elf attacked him and failed to escape, Hodan appeared behind him as the elf launched a desperate counterattack.

  • Hodan presented his Commander token at Flamebone Mountain and received a blood-red badge from Gaolun.
  • Hodan entered the Plane Battlefield and learned that Linley had not arrived, then left the Dark Divine Realm camp to search for him.
  • Hodan discovered that his Sovereign's Might could cover the entire battlefield and reasoned that he could watch Linley's movements from anywhere.
  • An Elven Race expert ambushed Hodan with an arrow, but it shattered against his body and its soul attack did him no harm.
  • Hodan appeared behind the fleeing elf, who drew a dagger and attacked him with the Life Sovereign's Might.

Ch. 140Forced Takeover

Hodan killed an elf Commander who had tried to ambush him, then crushed the elf’s Space Ring to retrieve its contents despite the elf’s surviving divine clone. After waiting for others drawn by the battle, Hodan faced Hermes, whom he recognized as a powerful Earth-law expert.

  • Hodan killed the elf expert before the elf’s dagger could harm him and took his golden Commander Badge.
  • Hodan found that the elf’s surviving divine clone prevented him from opening the Space Ring, so he crushed it and retrieved its contents from Spatial Turbulence.
  • Hodan collected another golden badge and more than ten drops of Life Sovereign’s Might from the ring’s contents.
  • Hodan stayed behind, expecting other Commanders to investigate the battle’s disturbance.
  • Hermes arrived, mistook Hodan for an enemy, and attacked; Hodan recognized him by his Earth-law attack and strength.

Ch. 141Battle Against Hermes

Hodan fought Hermes on the Plane Battlefield and defeated him by using Willpower to restrain him before landing a devastating punch. He spared Hermes, who resumed his journey toward the Dark Divine Plane camp, while Hodan headed for the Star River to cross into the Light Divine Plane camp's territory.

  • Hermes retreated from a spatial rift after his punch clashed with Hodan's, then arrogantly demanded to know Hodan's name.
  • Hodan used his Willpower to slow and crush Hermes before breaking his arm and striking a large hole in his chest.
  • Hermes realized Hodan was the Paragon Hodan, accepted his defeat, and told Hodan to kill him or do as he wished.
  • Hodan spared Hermes, saying he hoped Hermes would someday become a Paragon and that killing him would be a waste.
  • Hermes continued toward the Dark Divine Plane camp and promised to return to seek Hodan's guidance if he became a Paragon.
  • Hodan headed for the Star River, preparing to cross into the Light Divine Plane camp's territory.
