Chapter 27: An Unremarkable Senior Sister Is the Same as a Senior Brother
Cangyuan looked at his two disciples, wondering what they would achieve in the future. If they could not even reach the Law Domain Realm, he would truly be embarrassed.
"Master already gave Mu Chen his gift when we first met, so naturally I will not favor one over the other." Cangyuan looked at Zhou Yuan and spoke slowly.
Just as Mu Chen had expected, Cangyuan passed the Dragon Absorption Technique and the Chaos God Grinding Meditation Method to Zhou Yuan.
Mu Chen had no need for either of these methods. The Devouring Ancestral Symbol replaced the Qi Gathering Technique, while the Spirit Grinding Mill within the Ancestral Stone replaced the Soul Forging Art.
After a while, Cangyuan took out a somewhat dim black brush, an expression of reluctance seemingly appearing on his face.
Mu Chen's mouth twitched imperceptibly. When Cangyuan had given him Heaven Abyss, he had not shown such reluctance.
However, he understood. This Heavenly Origin Brush had accompanied Cangyuan through many battles, so it naturally held sentimental value. Heaven Abyss, meanwhile, had only been forged recently and had never been used in battle, so there was no attachment to it.
Although Heaven Abyss had yet to attain a rank, it could advance just like the Heavenly Origin Brush. Its material was also used in forging Saintly Source Weapons.
Unless it encountered a Saintly Source Weapon, it would not be damaged in a collision with any Source Weapon below that grade.
For the time being, it did not possess the world-destroying might of a Heavenly Source Weapon or a Saintly Source Weapon, but it was sturdy and tough enough.
Mu Chen patted Heaven Abyss on his back, and it responded with a spiritual tremor.
He had yet to open his Qi Mansion, but although Heaven Abyss was not currently a Heavenly Source Weapon, its spirituality was enough for it to be stored within.
Upon hearing that it had once been a Saintly Source Weapon, Zhou Yuan stared in shock and drew a sharp breath.
He simply could not believe that this black brush, seemingly cast from bronze, was actually the most supreme Saintly Source Weapon.
The highest-grade weapon he had ever seen was the high-grade Profound Source Weapon in his father's possession.
Even if it had only been one in the past, even if it was now damaged and ruined, the fact that it could be restored was enough for him to treasure it like a priceless gem.
His master Cangyuan truly was extraordinary. He actually possessed a supreme Source Weapon like a Saintly Source Weapon. His cultivation must at least be at the lofty Law Domain Realm.
If Mu Chen knew what Zhou Yuan was thinking at this moment, he would not be able to help laughing. To Cangyuan, Law Domain Realm experts were as weak as ants.
"Thank you, Master, for granting me the Heavenly Origin Brush. May I ask Master's name?" Zhou Yuan asked with a smile.
"Cangyuan. That is my name. Mu Chen is your senior brother. Besides him, I have two other disciples, who may also be considered your senior brothers. If fate permits, you will meet them someday." Cangyuan's expression turned strange as he spoke.
Zhou Yuan nodded without giving it much thought. Looking at Yaoyao, he asked, "Isn't this Senior Brother Mu Chen's senior sister?"
"Hehe, she can be considered your senior sister." Cangyuan froze for a moment, then smiled and nodded. He had taught Yaoyao quite a bit, so she could indeed be considered Mu Chen's senior sister.
Mu Chen, however, knew why Cangyuan's expression had turned strange.
His senior sister in faraway Hunyuan Heaven was a woman, but her chest was completely flat. That was why Cangyuan had said he had two senior brothers.
One equation held true: an unremarkable senior sister was equal to a senior brother.
They would definitely have a chance to meet in the future. If he told that unremarkable senior sister about this, it should be quite amusing.
Cangyuan frowned, sensing that someone was talking about him. At the level of a Saint, one's perception became extraordinarily sharp.
Hmph, it is probably those fellows. Now that I have no lingering worries, let us see how I deal with you.
"Grandpa Hei, when will we be able to meet again?" During this time, Yaoyao had come to understand many things, but she still felt the sorrow of parting.
"Yaoyao, all feasts must come to an end. We will meet again someday." Cangyuan sighed softly. He was also reluctant to part with her. After living with Yaoyao for so many years, he had truly regarded her as family, not as the so-called Third God.
"Mu Chen, take good care of Yaoyao. And remember what I told you." Cangyuan looked at Mu Chen. If the time truly came when they had to ignite that source rune, he hoped they could hold on until he arrived.
He knew Yaoyao would certainly encounter danger in the future, but if she stayed with him, the danger would be even greater. The enemies he faced were all Saints.
Therefore, Yaoyao would be much safer, relatively speaking, if she left him.
"I will. Unless we encounter an expert above the Law Domain Realm, we will find a way to handle anything else," Mu Chen said solemnly.
Cangyuan nodded. There were currently no Saints in Cangxuan Heaven, so he could be somewhat reassured.
"Zhou Yuan, if there is anything you do not understand, you may ask Yaoyao. Of course, that depends on Yaoyao's mood."
Zhou Yuan's eyes lit up. He knew Cangyuan would be leaving this place and that they would not be able to meet again for a long time, but having a senior sister to guide him would save him from taking many detours.
Tuntun was having a hard time. Perhaps because Yaoyao was sad, her arm was squeezing him tightly, but he could only endure it. She was his boss, after all.
Mu Chen, on the other hand, envied Tuntun greatly. After all, no one else could enjoy the treatment of being held in Yaoyao's arms.
"It is time for you to leave."
With a sweep of Cangyuan's sleeve, dust rose from the ground before the thatched cottage, and countless ancient patterns emerged. They were profound and unfathomable source runes.
Zhou Yuan recognized them at a glance. They were identical to the source runes on the stone platform in the ancestral grounds, and he immediately understood that those had likely been Cangyuan's handiwork as well.
The group stood atop the source rune formation. Cangyuan said nothing more; he had already told Yaoyao and Mu Chen everything that needed to be said during this time.
With a flick of his finger, the surrounding source runes erupted with light and enveloped them. The next moment, a fierce wind rose, and the figures on the formation vanished into thin air.
Cangyuan lay back down in his reclining chair. Though his tone was sorrowful, it carried an indescribable meaning as well. "Hehe, that old fellow said I could take one more disciple. It seems that was not entirely accurate."
"That will depend on yourselves. I will not be able to rest from now on." Cangyuan knew that he would no longer have the days of lying in his reclining chair and basking in the sun. He had to keep those Saints in check.
Suddenly, Cangyuan gazed calmly into the void, as though he had seen the unwelcome guest who was about to arrive.
"Nephew Mu Chen?"
Within the dim cave, when Mu Chen and the others appeared, Zhou Qing called out Mu Chen's name in surprise. Of course he recognized the person standing on the stone platform.
But why was Mu Chen together with Yuan'er? He was utterly bewildered.
"Uncle Zhou, it has been a while." Mu Chen smiled and nodded.
"Yes, but how did you get in, Nephew? This place should only be usable by members of the Zhou Clan." Zhou Qing asked curiously.
When Zhou Yuan had disappeared earlier, Zhou Qing had not seen Mu Chen enter, so he could not help but be curious.
"As for me, I accidentally entered that space from somewhere else. I did not use the formation here. I just happened to meet Zhou Yuan inside," Mu Chen explained.
Zhou Qing nodded. He did not ask how that accident had happened. After all, everyone had their own secrets.
