Soul Society conspiracy

Aizen served publicly as the gentle, dependable captain of the Fifth Division while secretly plotting against Soul Society with Ichimaru Gin and Kaname Tōsen. He arranged his own apparent death, murdered Central 46, and manipulated Rukia Kuchiki’s execution order from behind the scenes. 38 53

His primary objective was the Hōgyoku, a device capable of breaking the limits separating Shinigami and Hollows. After revealing that Urahara Kisuke had hidden the Hōgyoku within Rukia, Aizen extracted it from her body and escaped Seireitei through a Menos Grande’s Negación. 59 61

Rule of Hueco Mundo

As Hueco Mundo’s ruler, Aizen used the unsealed Hōgyoku to experiment on Hollows and create Pseudo-Arrancar. He treated the results as disposable test subjects, sending them to the Human World to gauge the responses of Soul Society’s defenders. 88

He also deliberately allowed Grimmjow and his Fracción to invade Karakura Town, considering the Fracción expendable cannon fodder. 97 Aizen monitored Wu Biao’s rapid growth through these conflicts and used Espada deployments as tests to confirm why Wu Biao continued growing stronger. 115 117

Transcendence and defeat

After fusing with the Hōgyoku, Aizen evolved beyond the Shinigami-Hollow boundary and became a higher-dimensional being. He assisted Muramasa’s Zanpakutō rebellion largely because the ensuing crisis would challenge and develop Soul Society’s fighters. 127

Aizen later invaded Soul Society with enhanced Arrancar and Espada, effortlessly overpowering Captain-Commander Yamamoto and five Royal Guard members through overwhelming spiritual pressure. 163 164 During the decisive battle, Gin’s betrayal and Urahara’s sealing efforts failed to stop him; Aizen regenerated from a pierced heart and shattered the seals placed within him. 166

The Aizen initially defeated by Wu Biao was a special Gigai constructed from the Wandenreich’s dead, conditioned through hypnosis to believe it was Aizen himself. The real Aizen descended afterward in a state so powerful that his presence warped the world around him. 167 168

Wu Biao ultimately overcame him after drawing power from Hell and the wishes of the Human World and Soul Society. Aizen was bound by Hell Chains and suppressed beneath the Abyss rather than killed. 170

Return and the Seven Gods Plan

Aizen later escaped confinement and returned to Soul Society, activating his hypnosis without drawing his Zanpakutō before fleeing through a passage to an unknown world. 360

Three years later, he resurfaced by targeting Aya Unohana and using false distress signals to separate her from Renji Abarai. 420 421 He was subsequently connected to Revolution, an organization obsessed with creating a god, and admitted that he had arranged events to awaken the Seven Gods. 422 424

Aizen explained that the Seven Gods Plan divides divine power among seven people, allowing their bodies to gradually adapt before the power is eventually merged into a single recipient. His own goal remains to become a god beyond the limits imposed on Shinigami and humans. 424

Aizen ordinarily presents himself as a composed man with short brown hair, brown eyes, glasses, and white clothing. 38 127 421
