Background / History
Born as Atysius, Stia was separated from her parents during the Wasteland's chaos. Her parents sacrificed themselves to draw monsters away, while fleeing refugees exploited the girl by taking the belongings her parents had left behind. Despite this, Atysius remained convinced that kindness should not depend on receiving anything in return. 212 213
She eventually collapsed outside Ash's settlement and was taken in. As the settlement's only healing-type Corrupted, Stia treated the injured, calmed frightened residents, and repeatedly defended Ash's decisions; her support was responsible for the settlement's early increase in trust toward its leader. 213 238 239
Stia's devotion to Ash Settlement was absolute. When Helen and several Corrupted planned to defect to Lanno Settlement, she offered them “farewell” healing potions, then poisoned them rather than allow them to abandon Ash. 239
After the Ash Emperor disappeared, the other four core companions left the empire one by one to establish their own nations. Believing that she had failed to protect Ash's home, Stia led the remaining people of the empire back to the place where she had first met him and founded the Holy Kingdom. 54
Stia later entered the Confession Room, publicly withdrawing from the world three hundred years before the present era. She had sealed herself there to resist the corruption accumulating within her. 12 66
Appearance
Stia is a beautiful young woman with long sea-blue hair, sapphire-like eyes, pale skin, and a small, gentle face. The Church's nun habits were modeled after her ceremonial appearance. 12
- Normal attire — Black-and-white nun's habit, white stockings, holy cross, and a hood or veil. 12 168
- Ceremonial form — White holy robes with a ribboned waist and low-cut holy boots. 12 13
- Corrupted form — Dark red-and-black hair, crimson eyes, a black funeral gown, scarlet heels, a thorned crown, hooked chains, and a black scythe. 13 56 98
- True form — Her genuine body is vastly stronger than the vessels and light projections she initially used. 55 156
Personality
Stia was originally gentle, selfless, and almost painfully trusting. She retained maximum favorability toward Ash even after he repeatedly benched her and stripped her equipment for other companions in the game. 1 11
Her kindness did not make her harmless. Stia could be calculating and ruthless when Ash Settlement or Ash himself was threatened, as shown by her murder of Helen's defecting group. 239
Ash's five-century absence and the dissolution of the Ash Empire left Stia terrified of abandonment. Her love became possessive and obsessive, making her regard Ash's other companions as rivals and leading her to use imprisonment, deception, possession, and violence to keep him from leaving her again. 13 54 55
After her Contract was renewed and her corruption purified, Stia regained much of her gentleness. However, she remains easily provoked by threats to Ash, the Holy Kingdom, or her position beside him. 65 69 165
Abilities & Skills
Holy Light and Healing
Stia's core power is holy light, which functions as both restoration and high-level control.
- Holy Healing can restore grievous injuries instantly and return an injured target to full health. 4 55
- Her holy light can purify Corrupt Calamity pollution across the Holy Kingdom and restore depleted holy crosses used by its Knights Orders. 66
- Holy Word: Silence is a targeted control skill that suppresses biological Corrupted abilities; it can revert mutated Corrupted Corpses and cancel accumulated combat states. 63
- She can travel as a beam of holy light and rapidly cross large distances. 163
Possession and Mental Destruction
Stia can manifest remotely through her believers and use them as vessels.
- She first appeared at Black Cave Plains through a light avatar manifested using Church followers as a medium. 12 13
- Her evolved possession ability allowed her to seize control of Archbishop Maria, a Light Bearer. 31
- Through Maria, Stia combined holy light and Zhuo'e to use Mental Destruction, capturing and erasing Zero's consciousness fragment. 32
- She considers serving as her vessel an honor for any Light Bearer. 54
Corrupt Calamity Combat
When overwhelmed by obsession or corruption, Stia can weaponize Zhuo'e and Corrupt Calamity.
- Forms a blood-red or black scythe capable of cutting through high-grade mechanical bodies and damaging Jiu You's dragon scales. 31 98
- Creates chains, shackles, and hooked claws to restrain and drain targets. 54 56
- Can command Corrupted Corpses as a pursuing army. 55 63
- Her corrupted power can overwhelm weaker believers and cause severe Zhuo'e contamination in the surrounding area. 13
Dark Spirit Art: Extinction
Stia's principal offensive spell is Dark Spirit Art: Extinction.
- Deals damage equal to 1000% of a target's Attack stat when the target's Attack rating exceeds C. 63
- It is devastating against high-Attack opponents such as Irin and Zero. 63
- The spell is ineffective against targets with Attack ratings below C, a weakness Liao Ji exploited by using Tamik as its target. 64
- Outside of her scythe and grappling claws, it was described as Stia's only true offensive skill in her healer-oriented kit. 64
Degradation and Optimization
Stia possesses abilities associated with her stronger combat form.
- Degradation corrodes and weakens targets and objects; it defeated SD-533, turned A-Xue's restraining vines against her, corroded Carolyn's dark matter, and severed one of Jiu You's horns. 154 155
- Optimization enhances objects or systems through holy light, including a private jet that Stia accelerated to several times its normal speed. 162
- Through Corrupt Calamity Touch, Stia can become Healing Holy Armor for Liao Ji, granting S-rank Endurance, powerful recovery, Degradation, and Optimization. 172 313
Holy Domain Spells
Within Zero Dreamscape, Stia displayed a far broader holy spell arsenal against the witch Atysius. 237
- Holy Spirit Art: Evil-Breaking Eyes — Reveals an opponent's weaknesses. 237
- Holy Blessing Art: Divine Veil — Surrounds Stia with a protective veil of holy light. 237
- Holy Word Art: Super Insight — Enhances her perception and analysis. 237
- Forbidden Spell: Holy Domain — Creates a sanctuary of seventy-two holy pillars that disperses Corrupt Calamity and annihilates monsters within it. 237
- Forbidden Spell: Light of Redemption, Sacred Flames, and Ultra Forbidden Spell: Holy Scripture—Open! — Used in sequence to erase the witch and her remaining Corrupt Calamity traces. 237
- Dark Word Art: Silence — Used to destroy the witch's final surviving phantom. 237
Relationships
- Liao Ji / Lord Ash — Her former leader, first love, and Contract holder. Stia waited five hundred years for his return, fears being abandoned by him, and later renews her Contract with him after her purification. 13 55 65
- Maria — Archbishop and Light Bearer whose body Stia repeatedly possessed. Maria reveres Stia as her Goddess, while Stia treats her body as a suitable vessel. 12 31 54
- Jiu You — Former companion whom Stia initially resented for leaving the Ash Empire. They fought in Sealed City, formed an alliance to protect Ash, and later negotiated their respective positions beside him. 54 99 164 165
- Zero — Former comrade and later enemy at Haisha Bar. Stia possessed Maria to trap Zero, erase her consciousness fragment, and remove her memories of the encounter. 31 32
- Tamik — A devout believer who was willing to sacrifice himself to protect Stia. Liao Ji used him to intercept her Extinction spell, then praised him for his loyalty. 64
- Atysius — A corrupted alternate version of Stia created by the path she might have taken without Ash's intervention. Stia destroyed the witch completely in Zero Dreamscape and denied that she had ever existed. 213 237
- Rena — A rival whose schemes and information leaks repeatedly inflame Stia's jealousy. Stia regards Rena as her greatest threat around Ash. 100 160 165
Story Role / Major Arcs
Black Cave Plains
Stia answered the stone coffin's resonance through a light avatar and recognized Ash's scent inside it. The discovery exposed the depth of her five-century obsession and triggered a violent surge of corruption that incapacitated Maria and the accompanying nuns. 12 13
Haisha Bar and Maria's Possession
Using Maria's body, Stia attacked the Emergency Rescue Squad and trapped Zero. She evolved her possession ability, used Mental Destruction to erase Zero's consciousness fragment, and reacted with jealousy after discovering Ash's Contract mark on Irin. 31 32
Underground Church Conflict
Disguised as a Light Bearer, Stia lured Liao Ji to the underground altar. After revealing herself, she chained him with Corrupt Calamity and attempted to keep him beside her by force. 53 54
Liao Ji successfully placed a Contract on Stia while she occupied Maria's weaker body. Their ensuing battle exposed Stia's fear of being discarded, her memories of Ash's past resets, and the corruption that had accumulated during their separation. 55 56 57
Purification and Return
After Stia surrendered herself to Corrupt Calamity, Liao Ji deliberately took her attack to shock her back to clarity. He and Stia renewed their Contract in a spiritual realm, purifying her accumulated contamination and restoring her normal state. 64 65
Sealed City Alliance
Stia descended into Sealed City as a Supreme and confronted Jiu You. Although their conflict began with resentment and combat, Stia proposed an alliance: protect Ash and ensure that none of their companions acted improperly until all five had reunited. 98 99
Dragon Kingdom Incident
After receiving compromising images involving Jiu You and Ash, Stia traveled to the Dragon Kingdom in her true form. She defeated A-Xue, SD-533, Carolyn, and Jiu You with overwhelming force before eventually entering negotiations with Jiu You rather than continuing the conflict. 154 155 162 164
Zero Dreamscape and the Witch
Liao Ji later witnessed Stia's childhood and early settlement history through Zero Dreamscape. When the witch Atysius appeared, Stia was summoned into the Dreamscape and annihilated the corrupted version of herself before Liao Ji could interrogate it. 213 236 237
