After reading the new listing, Azu silently closed the "shop."
This so-called NK Gene Modification Potion could be regarded as a "stable Compound 5," turning ordinary people into Supers in a targeted manner.
Unfortunately, Azu had no use for it at all.
"Can't you give me something useful for once?"
He muttered a complaint, then saw The Deep running out through the gap in the airport terminal hall.
Several mutants followed behind him.
Like Edie Orr, those mutants had injected the so-called "Holy Blood," but their mutations were nowhere near as severe as Edie Orr's. At the same time, they seemed unable to retain their sanity.
They chased The Deep like beasts.
"Save me, boss!"
The Deep shouted, "These things just won't die!"
"Trash."
Azu looked down on The Deep deeply. Once this guy got onto land, he was basically useless aside from being able to take a beating.
A few mutants had chased him right out of the terminal. He had completely disgraced The Seven.
"The weakness is the head."
After leaving those words behind, Azu ignored him, soared into the sky, turned around, and shot off toward Seven Tower.
At the airport, The Deep froze when he saw Homelander simply leave.
Just then, a mutant pounced on him and bit down on his shoulder.
Remembering Homelander's reminder, The Deep yelled, threw the mutant to the ground, and raised his foot before stomping violently on its head.
He crushed the mutant's skull beneath one foot.
The mutant immediately stopped moving.
The Deep cheered and turned around, intending to deal with the other mutants.
But he saw Black Noir moving around the mutants like a ghost. His long blade drew twisting arcs of light, slicing off the heads of all four or five mutants.
The Deep could only cough awkwardly, put his hands on his hips, and point at Black Noir. "Good work."
In the night sky.
Azu could already see Seven Tower in the distance.
As he flew past an office building, a window suddenly shattered beside him, and a figure flew out, screaming as she fell.
Azu instinctively reached out and caught a girl.
He looked through the window and saw seven or eight men in black suits cry out in alarm.
"It's Homelander!"
"Go, go, go!"
They vanished in the blink of an eye.
Azu looked at the girl in his hand. She was young and beautiful, with a tiny mole at the corner of her mouth. Overwhelmed by fright, she had already fainted.
Azu glanced at Seven Tower, which was no longer far away, shook his head, and changed direction toward a hospital.
Only after taking the girl to the hospital did Azu return to Seven Tower.
The next morning.
Azu stretched and woke up.
Sitting up in bed, he saw a beautiful bare back. The smooth skin made him sigh; it would be such a waste not to use it for cupping therapy.
Seeing Raven Nora, the Public Relations Department supervisor, asleep in bed, Azu chuckled. "So it wasn't a dream after all. I really did transmigrate."
Then he remembered that after returning to Seven Tower last night, Raven Nora had come to report on the incident's progress.
Azu had given her a look at the time.
The woman understood, and the report had been moved to the bed.
"This kind of sleeping-in life is pretty great."
He gave the woman a pat, pulled the blanket over her, then showered, ate breakfast, and put on his combat suit. By the time he left, the female supervisor was still sleeping soundly.
He had worn her out too much last night.
As he walked down the corridor and greeted all sorts of people, Azu's heart stirred. A fragrant breeze rose beside him, and a head of passionate wine-red wavy hair appeared at the corner of his eye.
"Yesterday was really lively. Looks like I missed a lot."
Wearing a skimpy gladiator combat suit, the sexy and mature Maeve glanced at Azu. "I heard Raven didn't leave your room last night?"
"She's sleeping quite soundly."
"The one lying in bed right now should have been you, but unfortunately, you weren't free." Azu said without the slightest psychological burden.
Maeve gave a short laugh. "What we had is over."
"You didn't forget, did you?"
Azu smiled with his hands behind his back. "No one ever said that sort of thing can't start again. Don't you think?"
Maeve frowned, then changed the subject. "So A-Train really did kill someone?"
Azu pointed at his eyes. "I saw it with my own eyes."
"And a lot of reporters saw it too."
Maeve shook her head. "I never thought he'd do something like that. I thought only you were that crazy."
Azu narrowed his eyes slightly. "Your Majesty Queen, I admire your courage, but remember this: it's fine to say such things to me, but don't go saying them carelessly outside, lest someone with ulterior motives takes advantage of them."
"Besides."
"Maybe it won't be long before you realize that I'm different from before."
Maeve did not respond.
Just then, Ashley walked over, looked at the two of them, and said, "I'll come back later."
"No need." Maeve smiled. "You two talk."
She headed toward the Training Room.
"What is it, Miss Ashley?" Azu flashed eight teeth at his "little butler."
Holding a tablet, Ashley said, "Homelander, after last night's rescue operation, your approval rating rose by 1.8%. Mr. Edgar also called. He had nothing but praise for the actions you took last night."
Azu did not care much about his so-called approval rating, much less Edgar's praise.
He knew very well that he was now a thorn in Edgar's side.
Yet Edgar had still handed The Seven over to him only because he had no means of resisting him for the moment.
If I were Edgar, I'd definitely appear to compromise while secretly stepping up research into ways to restrain Homelander.
So if Vought could not be controlled, it had to be eliminated.
But before that, he needed a team loyal to him, with sufficient combat strength to stand against the military and other Supers.
Azu smiled, suppressed the turmoil in his heart, and walked toward the main hall.
Ashley hurried after him. "Also, we're currently holding nationwide auditions to select new Supers to join The Seven."
"You know, including you, The Seven only has five members now. If we don't replenish the roster soon, the team will be a name without substance, and it will affect our brand image."
Auditions.
New members of The Seven.
Azu held out his hand. "Give me the list of candidates and their detailed profiles. I want their specific abilities and combat records."
He wanted to choose the members himself.
Besides, he wanted to kick "Starlight" off the audition list.
Azu did not want a pretty face wasting one of The Seven's slots.
