Background / History

Shrek Academy stood at the center of the continent for roughly twenty thousand years. It grew from a dilapidated village into an institution occupying Shrek City, with autonomous laws and currency; its prestige was closely tied to the legacy of Tang San and the Shrek Seven Devils. 122 204 277

The academy traditionally presented itself as the continent's foremost cultivator of exceptional soul masters. Its leadership believed that the continent's greatest talents should enter Shrek, while its educational model selected gifted students and placed them in a highly competitive environment to produce “monsters.” 111 206

Its special status and conduct increasingly drew criticism. Shrek students’ final examinations required travel between cities and challenges against soul masters of comparable cultivation; these examinations repeatedly caused public disturbances.
