Gotham might have been very far from the North Pole.
But for a Speedster, it was only a matter of taking a couple of steps.
Gotham's rain and Gothic spires instantly stretched into blurred bands of color behind him, then were replaced by endless glaciers, biting cold wind, and the vastness of eternal daylight.
The Arctic was in the middle of polar day. Ian's figure, like a streak of golden-red lightning tearing through space, abruptly froze before a massive cluster of towering, crystalline structures that gave off a faint blue glow.
This was the Fortress of Solitude.
One of the most iconic buildings on Earth in the DC Universe.
And one of the top ten must-visit spots for transmigrators.
It was Superman Clark Kent's secret base on Earth, a miracle born from the union of Kryptonian technology and the Arctic wasteland. This majestic place, almost like a natural landscape, stood silently upon the ice field, like a crystal mountain range that had existed since time immemorial, blending into its surroundings while still exuding a lonely, mysterious dignity beyond its era.
This universe's Fortress of Solitude was somewhat different from the Fortress of Solitude in television or comics. After all, it was a famous check-in spot; every parallel universe naturally had its own flavor.
"Found it!"
Ian did not waste time admiring the familiar sight.
The speed brought by the Speed Force had stripped distance of meaning. From Gotham to the North Pole, to him, it was merely a slightly longer "stroll."
Finding the Fortress of Solitude's exact location had only taken 0.04 seconds.
When he stopped, he barely even stirred up much snow. Only the ice beneath his feet showed a tiny patch of melting and steam from the instant friction.
The Fortress of Solitude really was beautiful and majestic.
