Class B began the school year as a highly disciplined class. During the first month, none of its students were late or absent, and inattentiveness in class was rare, allowing it to reach 900 class points. 16

Ichinose Honami emerged as the class's central organizer, while Kanzaki Ryuji often provided a more reserved, analytical perspective. Baiye Ying joined the class late on the first day after mistakenly entering Class D, becoming one of Class B's most conspicuous members. 3

Following the first formal exams, Class B used its funds to loan 600,000 private points to Class D to prevent the expulsion of Sudo, Ike, and Yamauchi. The repayment agreement required Class D to pay 100,000 points monthly plus an additional 100,000 points in interest. 18 19

First-Month Point Race

Class B treated the school's point system seriously from the start and secured second place with 900 points. Its students were informed that surpassing Class A's points would promote the class to Class A. 16

Ichinose established eight study groups of five students for the midterms, assigning the class's top eight academic performers as group leaders. Ying led one group and tutored classmates in mathematics and English. 16

Conflict with Class C

Class C began systematically harassing Class B students, including intimidation, false compensation demands, threatening letters, tampering with drinks, and disrupting elevator use to cause tardiness. Ichinose initially encouraged students to travel in groups to reduce the risk. 21 22 23

When Ishizaki attempted to force Shibata to compensate him for a supposedly damaged deluxe meal, Ying and the Amikura Group refused to pay and publicly turned the situation against him. 22

Ying, Shibata, Hamaguchi, and Beppu later confronted the harassment through staged intimidation and performances as the Class B Boys Group. Their repeated songs and play performances wore down Class C's students until Ryuen acknowledged Class B's victory for that round, after which the harassment stopped. 23 24 25

Ichinose's Birthday and the Zombie Incident

Ying, Hamaguchi, Shibata, and Beppu formed a temporary “Class B Special Task Force” to organize a surprise birthday party for Ichinose. Their plan was interrupted by a zombie outbreak at Keyaki Mall. 33

During the outbreak, Ying, Ichinose, and Shibata fled to the Special Teaching Building, where nearly thirty Class B students had taken shelter. Ying helped defend against zombies with staff techniques and stopped Ichinose from attempting a dangerous rescue. 34

Uninhabited Island Exam

For the seven-day Uninhabited Island Exam, Class B selected Chihiro Shiranami as its leader. It accepted a deal with Class C, exchanging its contract for supplies worth 100 points. 38 41

Class B established a base camp, divided into scouting groups, and assigned Ying's group to locate the other classes. Ying contributed survival knowledge, including identifying edible plants and demonstrating the bow-drill method for making fire. 38 39

The class sheltered Kaneda after he claimed to have been expelled by Class C. While most members accepted him, Ying suspected he was a spy and unsuccessfully tried to expose him. Kaneda was later confirmed to have been assigned by Ryuen to infiltrate Class B. 40 46

Class B ultimately placed second in the exam with 210 points. 45
