At this moment, Madara Uchiha's face was livid. He felt as though he had been betrayed by his good friend, Hashirama Senju.
Moreover, memories of the time they had known each other since childhood and all the years they had spent together kept surfacing in his mind.

"Madara, I understand you. You and I both longed for peace. We fought side by side and ended the chaos of the Sengoku era together. Haven't we now welcomed true peace?" Hashirama Senju explained with a pained expression.
Looking at the fury on Madara Uchiha's face, Hashirama Senju could not understand it. They had founded Konoha together and ended the age of war, so why did his good friend want to change all of it?
"No, Hashirama, you don't understand me.
You don't even understand me as well as that brat Takenaka Kaguya.
The peace you speak of is not true peace." Madara Uchiha spoke with great disappointment.
He could not help recalling the things he had said to Takenaka Kaguya by the Konoha River. Those words represented his true understanding of peace.

Across from him, Hashirama Senju was puzzled. He knew that Takenaka Kaguya and Madara had once spoken at length.
However, after that conversation ended, Madara had not told him what they had discussed.
Still, he had noticed that Madara seemed to have undergone some change after that talk, one he did not understand.
