Nathan was so excited that he nearly stumbled over his own feet as he walked. Afraid of holding Thor up, he answered and prepared to leave.
Just then, Thor called after him. "By the way, Nathan."
"Mentor!" Nathan quickly turned around, his eyes shining as he looked at Thor.
"Do you still have any of the White Porcelain Cats you sold before?"
Nathan nodded repeatedly. "I have plenty. After Wizard Floco appeared, the White Porcelain Cats lost their ability to curse and bless. I secretly bought back all the White Porcelain Cats that had found their way onto the market."
"What made you think to buy them back?" Things had been so urgent at the time that even Thor hadn't thought of reclaiming the White Porcelain Cats. He hadn't expected Nathan to do it.
"I just thought their power was unusual, and you'd given the order, so it would be better not to let them scatter all over the place."
Thor nodded again. He'd originally only wanted to take a few White Porcelain Cats to study the curses on them, but Nathan had surprised him.
"Good. Tell me where you've stored them, then leave as soon as you can. A high-ranking Wizard will be here soon, and he's not as easy to deal with as I am."
Not long after Nathan left, Thor received an encrypted message from the Star Gate Council. Douglas had accepted Thor's invitation and would come to Sky City in two days.
That was somewhat unexpected.
Mentor Gorsa's Red Worm experiments were progressing quickly. With the infusion of Elf consciousness, they had obtained a large number of Red Worms they could control. Now all that remained were repeated experiments and field tests against the Anchors.
