Noah easily dealt with the panicked soldiers, then turned and respectfully led Thor upstairs.

Thor watched the boy, whose expression and bearing shifted effortlessly, and marveled inwardly at how much the Junior Apprentice had changed.

But how many people in this world could still hold on to their original intentions after weathering so many storms?

He had no right to judge Noah, either.

Thor followed Noah to the top floor of the Black Water Tower.

Because of the primitive construction techniques, the top floor was less than two meters high, with sloping walls on all four sides, making the space feel even more cramped.

The only thing in the room was a box. A wooden lid covered it, and a Witchcraft Item sat in the middle of the lid.

Thor had given Noah this item earlier.

It was a Witchcraft Item with automatic defensive countermeasures. It wasn't very powerful, but it consumed little energy and wasn't complicated to make, so it was very popular among Wizard Apprentices.

Noah didn't need to explain. Thor already knew that the box held what they had found.

He stepped forward and lifted the defensive Witchcraft Item off the lid. It sat there quietly and obediently, like a rabbit.

A freshly roasted one, at that.

Thor lifted the lid and looked down at what was inside.

It was a Bone Fish.

The fish was a meter long, and its head took up almost a third of its body.

The teeth in its mouth were exceptionally sharp and long. Even with its mouth closed, the wicked teeth stuck out between its jaws.

But no matter how terrifying it looked... this fish probably couldn't fight like the Bone Flying Lizard.

"Never mind. It may be small, but at least we've got another intact specimen to experiment on.
