"Just passing through." Thor looked at the Red Worm on Jeffrey's neck, almost burrowing into his body, and smiled with satisfaction. "What about you?"

"I passed the Star Gate Council's selection process." Jeffrey rubbed his nose, trying to suppress his pride. "They sent me out to study. They said once I finish, they'll let me work at the Star-Gazing Tower."

"Is that so?" Thor's gaze fixed on the short, plump tail of the Red Worm, still wriggling outside. "Then congratulations."

He suddenly raised his left hand. The skin on his index fingertip quickly receded, exposing a section of white bone. Before Jeffrey could react, Thor lightly touched the Red Worm's tail.

Jeffrey only had time to roll his eyes before his whole body jerked violently as if electrocuted, then toppled straight over.

Thor and Jeffrey had been standing in the street, but the instant Thor exposed his finger bone, the two of them were transported high into the air.

So when Jeffrey fell, he plummeted toward the ground.

A gray, translucent tentacle coiled around his body, however, leaving him dangling in midair.
