Background / History

Aunt Yang has cared for Yu Qing since her childhood and is identified as one of the Yu household's trusted longtime staff. Before Xiang Changge's arrival, she informs Yu Qing that the parents-arranged butler will be coming to the estate. 6 7

When Xiang Changge assumes the butler's post, Aunt Yang helps with the handover, shows her around the estate, explains Yu Qing's withdrawn routine, and arranges Xiang Changge's meals and accommodation according to Yu Qing's instructions. 7 8

Xiang Changge's immediate dismissal of much of the household staff unsettles Aunt Yang. Although she recognizes that many employees had become negligent, she worries about the upheaval and is uncertain whether reporting it to Yu Qing would seem like tattling. 10

Personality

Aunt Yang is warm, attentive, and deeply protective of Yu Qing. She is delighted when Yu Qing eats more than usual, worries over her health and irregular habits, and repeatedly encourages her to meet companions rather than remain isolated. 15 31
