The technique was extremely destructive. Uchiha Tamaharu hadn't initially intended to use it; he had merely made preparations.
But the Anbu at the front lines were already treating this as a war. Uchiha Metsu couldn't afford to go soft now and let them attack the Uchiha Clan without restraint.
"Listen to the roar of Mamaragan!"

Uchiha Metsu raised his hand. The arc of lightning in his palm shot straight into the sky, burrowing into the rain clouds.
Naturally, people spotted the bolt of lightning, but most still had no idea what was going on.
"Boom!"
At the front lines, a massive green figure appeared.
Uchiha Shisui was having a hard time holding out. There were simply too many Anbu surrounding him.
Once he realized he had no chance of dodging their attacks, he activated Susanoo without hesitation!
The green figure immediately drew the attention of countless Anbu, who converged on him.
"So you really did betray Konoha, Shisui!"
"Evil Uchiha!"
Nearby, Danzo kept track of the battlefield through his Hyuga Clan subordinates.
He shared Sarutobi Hiruzen's concern. Afraid Shisui would use Kotoamatsukami on him, he had been hiding in a prepared safe house.
Now that he had confirmed Shisui's location, he finally breathed a sigh of relief—and cursed the traitor.
Hidden in the shadows, Sarutobi Hiruzen had also pinpointed Shisui's position and felt the tension leave his body.
He immediately decided to take his men around to the other side of Shisui's position and lead an attack straight into the fray!
"Rumble!"
But just then, thunder suddenly rolled across the sky.
The moon was almost completely obscured by the clouds. Yet lightning crackled among them, flooding Konoha with light and turning night into day.
Sarutobi Hiruzen was about to lead his men into battle, but stopped in his tracks.
Then, unable to believe what he was seeing, he looked up at the rain clouds overhead.
"This doesn't feel good!"
Sarutobi Hiruzen sensed a tremendous threat.
He had only felt this kind of bone-chilling dread during the Shinobi World Wars—and on the night of the Nine-Tails Incident.
"The Uchiha!"
Sarutobi Hiruzen gritted his teeth.
There was no doubt about it—this had to be the work of the Uchiha.
He didn't know who was behind it, but this kind of technique could only have come from the Uchiha!
But there was no time to think.
"Boom!"
The first bolt of lightning struck Konoha indiscriminately.
It hit the lightning rod on the Hokage Building.
It didn't cause much damage.
But another bolt struck moments later, hitting an ordinary tree and setting it ablaze.
Then four more bolts came down at once.
The villagers fleeing through Konoha were terrified out of their wits, unsure what to do.
In less than thirty seconds, over thirty bolts had struck. Konoha was practically drowning in a sea of lightning.
"The Uchiha!!!"
Danzo and Sarutobi Hiruzen glared furiously.
"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"
Danzo hurriedly used Wind Style, trying to blow the rain clouds away.
But the clouds were around a thousand meters above the ground. An ordinary Wind Style technique could barely affect them.
It only blew open a small hole, doing nothing to change the overall situation.
"Shikaku, have every shinobi who can use Wind Style aim their techniques at the sky!"
Sarutobi Hiruzen also abandoned the attack and decided to deal with the troublesome rain clouds first.
If they left them alone, Konoha could be destroyed!
He couldn't accept that outcome!
"Yes!"
Inoichi Yamanaka, who had been communicating with Sarutobi Hiruzen telepathically, relayed the order to Shikaku Nara. Then he passed Shikaku's instructions directly to the Anbu on the front lines and the shinobi throughout Konoha.
Before long, the Uchiha shinobi who had been holding the line felt the pressure ease.
Quite a few Anbu had stopped attacking and were focusing instead on the storm clouds overhead.
"Ah, there really is no reason to stay."
Fugaku Uchiha looked up at the countless bolts of lightning raining down and sighed inwardly.
Then his gaze hardened, and he activated his Mangekyō Sharingan.
Uchiha Tamaharu had told him beforehand that if he used this technique, it meant Konoha had no intention of letting the Uchiha leave.
In that case, Konoha was their enemy. There was no need to hold back!
Let them experience pain!!
"Boom!"
A Susanoo radiating brown light erupted from the ground.
It raised its right hand, and three spinning Tomoe appeared in its palm.
"Amaterasu!!!"
Fugaku Uchiha coated the Tomoe with the inextinguishable flames of Amaterasu.
The black flames whirled rapidly around the three Tomoe, forming a fireball that hovered in Susanoo's palm.
The Anbu closing in sensed that Fugaku Uchiha was about to do something big.
But their Ninjutsu couldn't pierce Susanoo's defenses.
The only people in Konoha who had reached Kage Level were Sarutobi Hiruzen and, perhaps, Danzo—though Danzo was still far from that level.
The Anbu were even less capable.
The only other person who could reach that level was Might Guy, if he opened the Seventh Gate or beyond. But he was busy evacuating civilians and hadn't joined the battle.
So no one could stop Fugaku Uchiha.
"Yasaka Magatama!"
Without hesitation, Fugaku Uchiha directed Susanoo to hurl the rapidly spinning Tomoe in his hand toward the Hokage Building.
Its power was certainly no weaker than an ordinary Tailed Beast Bomb. It might not compare to one charged up by the Nine-Tails, but it was still enough to cause tremendous destruction.
"Crack, crack, crack!"
Everything in the path of the Yasaka Magatama was instantly destroyed.
Many Anbu tried to stop it with Earth Style: Earth Wall, but it was useless.
Five seconds later, the Yasaka Magatama struck the Hokage Building!
"Boom!"
A flash of light from the impact shot into the sky like a mushroom cloud.
Then the blast scattered the flames of Amaterasu, spreading them across the surrounding buildings.
"That fire is Amaterasu's inextinguishable flame."
"If you don't deal with it, all of Konoha will soon be engulfed in flames. Just wait for Konoha to be destroyed!"
Fugaku Uchiha shouted, trying to intimidate them.
He had done this mostly to divert Konoha's attention, not to kill them.
The message soon reached Sarutobi Hiruzen through Inoichi Yamanaka's abilities.
"Damn it!!"
"Evil Uchiha!!"
"Send men to seal the flames! Don't let them spread!!"
Through Inoichi Yamanaka's telepathic link, Sarutobi Hiruzen saw the black flames amid the ruins of the Hokage Building. They continued to burn beneath the scattered rain falling from the sky, completely unaffected.
To prevent even greater losses, he had no choice but to do this.
