"He's probably around Jonin level overall, but he mostly fights at close range. When fighting people like this, avoid getting close unless you've figured out how they work or you're confident you can land a lethal blow."
Uchiha Tamaharu began explaining right in front of Jabra.
The scene took a strange turn.
Jabra's face darkened. The other man spoke as if he didn't take him seriously at all, as though he were giving a lesson. It infuriated him.
At the same time, he felt humiliated that the changes in his opponent's eyes had frightened him just moments ago.
"You've made me angry, brat!!"
Jabra snarled.
Then, without hesitation, he used Soru and charged straight at Uchiha Tamaharu.
He'd figured out that this guy was the leader of the group. He'd take him out first and intimidate the youngsters.
They dared to use an elite member of Cipher Pol as a teaching example? They'd regret it.
"So fast!!!"
Kaku and the others, watching from a second-floor window, instantly narrowed their eyes.
They saw the group vanish from where they stood, dodging Jabra's attack.
"What!"
Jabra was naturally the most shocked of them all.
But he had no time to react, because he saw a huge fireball hurtling straight toward him.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique."
Uchiha Tamaharu had appeared beside Jabra at some point. He formed four hand seals and unleashed Fire Release, attacking him.
Jabra still managed to use Soru and dodge the fireball.
He jumped straight up, since the street on either side left him no room to evade.
"Phoenix Sage Fire Claw Crimson."
Uchiha Tamaharu threw five Shuriken, then spat out five small fireballs that wrapped around them. They formed a claw shape and shot toward Jabra in midair from several directions.
"Dog-Dog Fruit: Wolf Model!"
Sensing trouble, Jabra didn't hesitate to use his Devil Fruit ability.
"He really turned into a wolf!"
Izumi stood on a nearby rooftop, watching in amazement.
The others looked surprised too. They'd already heard about it, but seeing it with their own eyes was different.
"Iron Body: Wolf Hunt: All-Directional Claws!"
Jabra rapidly swung both hands, slashing with his claws to unleash Rankyaku-like strikes. He cut apart the Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson.
At the same time, his eyes caught sight of something spinning around him.
"Zzzzz!"
It was the wire attached to the Shuriken, circling around Jabra.
Once it was in position, Uchiha Tamaharu gave it a sharp tug.
The wire rapidly tightened.
Jabra sensed something was wrong and tried to escape with Geppo.
But Geppo was relatively slow, and he'd just finished swinging out his slashes. His body couldn't get away in time.
The wire caught his right foot.
Jabra was about to swing his right hand and cut through the wire.
"Lightning Style."
Electricity crackled from Uchiha Tamaharu's right hand. The current raced along the wire and instantly surged into Jabra's body.
Zzzzt!
Jabra's whole body lit up as the electricity coursed through him. Unable to control himself, he dropped straight out of the air.
The fight ended faster than expected.
Itachi and the others felt like they'd only just taken off their pants.
Kaku and the others also came out of the building, moving to stand in front of Jabra, who had fallen to the ground.
They warily watched Uchiha Tamaharu in the distance.
Fire and lightning!
Just what kind of Devil Fruit User was he?
That was the question weighing most heavily on Kaku and the others.
"Itachi, you take the long-nosed one. Izumi, handle the one with horns. Yashiro, you and the others take the painted face and the fat one."
Uchiha Tamaharu gave his orders.
Suitable opponents were hard to find. He'd just demonstrated how to deal with enemies in this world.
Most people here were heavily armored tanks, while ninjas were assassins and mages. They just needed to fight in the way that suited them best.
If they couldn't win, ninjas were pretty good at running away, too.
Itachi and the others would adapt better after experiencing real combat.
"Yes!"
Itachi and the others looked eager to give it a try.
"When did the World Government get a group of people like this?"
Kaku was at his wit's end.
The way their opponents clearly didn't take them seriously only made them angrier.
"Who are you calling fat!!"
Fukuro was furious.
But Itachi and the others didn't waste words. They attacked at once.
They opened with Kunai and Shuriken. Though they were mostly around Jonin level, it was always best to conserve Chakra when they could.
"I can fight, too."
Shisui spoke to Uchiha Tamaharu.
"There are still some strong opponents around. Don't rush."
"Keep an eye on things here. Step in if anyone's in danger, especially Izumi. She has the least combat experience."
Uchiha Tamaharu said.
Uchiha Tamaharu had chosen Izumi as a squad leader for a reason.
A thirteen-year-old with Three Tomoe—she had plenty of potential.
The Uchiha still had nearly twenty older people with Three Tomoe.
But among those under eighteen, there were only Itachi and Uchiha Izumi, so Uchiha Tamaharu planned to cultivate their talents.
"Mm."
Hearing Uchiha Tamaharu say that, Shisui had no objections.
He began watching the battlefield closely.
"Why are there so many Devil Fruit Users? And they all use fire!"
Kaku was being given a hard time by Itachi.
He'd also realized that all these people could unleash flames.
It left him stunned.
He couldn't make sense of what was going on.
"You're all slippery as eels! If you've got guts, stop running and fight me head-on!!"
Fukuro was the angriest of them all.
Being called fat had made him furious, and his opponent was so slippery that he couldn't land a hit.
Even the Soru that had always worked so well couldn't catch up.
His opponent kept vanishing right before his eyes. Fukuro couldn't find him, and then he'd suddenly reappear from who knew where and strike.
It was driving him crazy.
"Cough, cough!"
Jabra's paralysis wore off. He pushed himself up and coughed a couple of times.
"Lightning Style."
The wire was still wrapped around him, so Uchiha Tamaharu unleashed Lightning Style again. The current instantly traveled through the wire and into Jabra.
Jabra convulsed all over and fell straight to the ground, drool spilling uncontrollably from his long wolf muzzle.
"A Lightning Style attack like that would usually be enough to kill someone. But he's a Zoan Devil Fruit User, and his body is tough. The quickest way to check if they're dead is to pierce their eyeballs with a Kunai."
Uchiha Tamaharu said to Shisui.
Shisui nodded silently. Some of his old experience no longer applied, but what he'd learned from real combat still held true in this world.
"It's Kaku and the others!"
"Something's happened!"
Meanwhile, Rob Lucci, out on the street, noticed the commotion of the battle.
His expression immediately darkened as he recognized the direction. He called to Kalifa and hurried back.
