"I don't really want to go after someone with protagonist plot armor, but this is the easiest way to complete the mission."
"If I can't become a Shichibukai, then I'll have to raise my bounty. The fastest way would be to go after the Celestial Dragons, but that would be much more troublesome."
Uchiha Tamaharu sat in his room, weighing the pros and cons of this whole affair.
He wondered whether the Summit War would become even more complicated.
If Luffy and Ace were both sentenced to execution, would the Revolutionary Army send someone to attack as well?
Garp probably wouldn't just stand by while both his grandsons met their end.
This could get exciting!
But compared to going after the Celestial Dragons, capturing Luffy was still the easier option.
"This is the territory of one of the Shichibukai, Gecko Moria. Is Straw Hat Luffy really here?"
Kalifa studied the sea chart and quickly identified the location: the Florian Triangle.
This area was Moria's territory. His ship didn't stay in one place for long; it moved around. That was why she hadn't recognized the location from the chart alone.
But when she saw the dark fog, it reminded her of old intelligence, and she remembered.
"We just need to follow orders."
Shisui spoke calmly from the cockpit.
He was somewhat naïve, but he wasn't stupid.
He could tell that Uchiha Tamaharu knew far more about this world than anyone could have expected.
Almost everything Tamaharu did was the fastest way to achieve his goals, as if he had always been part of this world.
That included fighting these people. He seemed to know their strength well, and the opponents assigned to Izumi and the others were indeed within their ability to handle.
But as long as Uchiha Tamaharu was doing this for the Uchiha Clan, Shisui had no objections.
Kalifa nodded and said no more.
She was wary of Shisui. He had subdued Rob Lucci with ease, and she couldn't begin to gauge his strength.
About six hours later, they finally received word.
The one who returned to deliver it was Itachi's Shadow Clone.
After sailing through the fog for another two hours, they spotted a terrifying three-masted ship as large as an island.
Itachi and the others were already waiting for them on the shore.
The CP9 agents had grown used to seeing two identical people.
"We've sent seven men in to investigate."
"But there seems to be fighting. We don't know the details yet."
Itachi calmly delivered the report.
"Everyone, stay hidden and wait for my order."
Uchiha Tamaharu gave the command.
He didn't want to reveal himself too early. It looked like a fight was underway, but neither side had won yet.
If they didn't run into Luffy here, Tamaharu would have had to take his team to Sabaody and wait for him there.
He wasn't particularly concerned about Gecko Moria. At first, he had wondered whether defeating a Shichibukai would let him take that one's place.
But the odds seemed too low, since the Shichibukai belonged to the World Government.
Capturing Luffy and handing him over to the World Government seemed much more likely to succeed.
Although the Uchiha now had enough strength to defeat either side, Uchiha Tamaharu was concerned about Tyrant Kuma.
Kuma had come here to go easy on them, and had even sent a woman to Mihawk.
He had also made sure the young master and his companions were safe and reliable before leaving. Otherwise, he had been ready to take Luffy away himself, to keep Luffy from causing trouble for Monkey D. Dragon.
It was hard to say exactly how strong Tyrant Kuma was, but he was definitely below Admiral level. Among the Shichibukai, though, he was probably one of the top four. He wouldn't be easy to deal with.
"Shouldn't we make the first move?"
"If Straw Hat Luffy gets away, he'll be hard to find again."
Jabra sounded puzzled.
"This is the territory of Gecko Moria, one of the Shichibukai. Is he waiting for Straw Hat Luffy to defeat Moria before making his move?"
As CP9's strategist, Kalifa could easily guess what Uchiha Tamaharu had in mind.
She thought that whichever side won, neither would be able to resist these people in the end.
The way they operated seemed a lot like Cipher Pol!
They waited for a full five hours. During that time, members of the Uchiha Clan even reported seeing the Straw Hat Crew's ship, as well as someone moving aboard it.
Then, two hours ago, a tremendous roar had sounded from the island.
Uchiha Tamaharu could even see Oars's body.
Boom!
The island shuddered violently.
Uchiha Tamaharu could clearly see Oars fighting.
"Get ready for battle."
Uchiha Tamaharu gave the order.
The fight hadn't lasted long. It was time to wrap things up.
At the command, many Uchiha swallowed Military Ration Pills to quickly restore their stamina and Chakra, bringing themselves back to peak condition.
"You're coming with me."
"Shisui, Itachi, wait for my signal."
Uchiha Tamaharu continued.
Tamaharu wasn't confident he could take on Tyrant Kuma alone.
But this time, he had three Mangekyo users, along with ten Jonin and seven Special Jōnin.
They had more than enough strength to wipe out a small shinobi village.
Capturing a Jinchūriki from one of the Five Great Shinobi Villages would be practically effortless.
With that kind of strength, Uchiha Tamaharu figured things couldn't go wrong.
Rob Lucci was under Uchiha Tamaharu's watch. Tamaharu then had Blueno use his spatial door ability to transport them closer.
Blueno's ability let them cover the distance with ease, bringing them to the area around Moria's castle.
"Straw Hat Luffy, I'll kill you!"
Gecko Moria roared.
He had seen how Luffy had boosted his strength with shadows, becoming incredibly powerful, so he decided to try it himself.
He went so far as to absorb a thousand shadows at once, but he couldn't handle that many. Shadows kept spilling out of his mouth.
Then the plot took its course. Luffy punched him and made him spit the shadows out. Moria crashed into a castle tower, which toppled onto him. He spat out all the shadows and was knocked unconscious.
"Yeah!!!"
The pirates around them cheered as their shadows returned to them.
They had spent years imprisoned in this lightless place, and it had left them feeling utterly miserable.
Now that they were finally free, how could they not be happy?
The clouds above began to part, and shafts of sunlight broke through and shone down on the ground.
The shadows of Luffy and the others returned to them, too. Chopper and the others had seen Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro's upper bodies vanish when they were exposed to the sunlight. It had nearly scared them out of their wits.
"Moria lost badly."
"Is he still breathing?"
"Not sure."
"As long as he's alive, I want him to remain a Shichibukai once he recovers."
"But this must never get out. What a troublesome fellow. You understand what I mean, right? There can't be any witnesses who saw Moria lose."
"By order of the World Government, kill everyone left on the island, including the Straw Hat Crew."
While Luffy and the others celebrated, a figure drew their attention.
Bartholomew Kuma was talking into a Den Den Mushi.
The person on the other end was one of the Five Elders.
"Piece of cake," Bartholomew Kuma replied calmly.
Below, Lola and the others looked terrified, their faces pale. Many of the pirates wore expressions of despair.
They clearly hadn't expected to escape one prison only to run into an even more troublesome opponent.
"Damn it!"
Zoro and the others were furious.
They were in terrible shape, and Luffy had passed out.
If they were at full strength, they thought they might still be able to fight him.
"Sorry, but I'm taking Straw Hat Luffy."
At that moment, Uchiha Tamaharu appeared and spoke directly.
"It's them!"
Zoro and the others recognized CP9, and their faces immediately darkened.
They clearly hadn't expected yet another group of troublemakers to show up.
